I wonder if mylotters also like to listen music or songs from other countries which has different language with yours. Sometimes maybe we feel funny, but still enjoy the music. So far I already heard (beside Indonesian and English language song) I also heard Mandarin (China), Malay, Korean, Japan songs more often than India, Thailand, Latin, German songs (those are I already heard). Others... hmmm never heard before... maybe you can suggest or give some recommendation from your countries ?

I'm a filipino and most of the songs we play here are either Filipino music or English, I don't listen to such songs aside from that. I find it hard to understand to listen at songs which I am not aware what language it was, but I believe I could listen to it as long as it's instrumental!LoL Also, some filipino singers sing good english songs, as most of them compete on international singing competitions and mostly emerge as champions.

yupe, I also heard many good singing competion in your country and many good singers from Philippine too. But I never heard in tagalog language. I knew Lea Salonga, Maribeth, Christian Boutista are good Filipino singers, but I only heard their English song, never heard they sing in tagalog before LOL...

My native tongue is English but I listen to a vast amount of music being performed in other languages. Being a lover of opera I have many recordings in Italian, French, German, Russian and Spanish. I have also listened to a great variety of songs and arias in Polish, Swedish, Dutch and numerous other languages over the years. The main criterion for myself is the quality of the music and the performance in general.

I listen to Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Latin, German and Italian. Seems like I can't recommend any other language to you Femi. The one thing I can recommend though. Avoid (C)Rap music.

I am currently in Rhodes, in an internet cafe, but most cafes and bars are playing music in Greek! All their songs are Greek and have Greek lyrics, they are catchy and provide a great atmosphere, so think of me in Rhodes responding to discussions on Mylot with Greek music in the background! They have great vocals btw!

I like listening to music in languages other than my native language, which is English, even if I don't know what they are saying. I enjoy Latin Pop, Japanese Enka, Japanese Taiko drums, Opera in Italian, and call me strange, but I enjoy hearing the National Anthems of nations. That's actually one reason I watch the Olympics (in addition to being a sports fan).

Yes, at times i listen to any music even if I don't understand the lyrics. The tone and the melody is pretty good to hear. I even use them when I meditate. It's pretty cool.

Hi Femimi. Well, I do listen to songs from other countries. I mean I am a Chinese but I listen to English song, Japanese, Korea, Mandarin song of course and also Malay and Cantonese song. I will listen to songs as long as their melodies are nice. That's what I ask for when I am listening to song. I didn't see Cantonese songs from your words, just I am suggesting this. Haha. Those from Hong Kong are really not bad

I love to listen to Japanese music. I also listen to music in Spanish (like Daddy Yankee). I usually just like the beat because I can't understand what they are saying lol.

Aside from listening to music or songs with Filipino or English lyrics, my siblings and I do listen to Chinese and Korean songs. In the much earlier days, we seldom do mainly because we have no other choice but to listen to our local singers or to the American singers. However, with the influx of telenovelas or tv series from different parts of the world like Taiiwan, Korea, and Spain; we do have a broader choice nowadays. We don't only listen to these songs from foreign lands; but we also love to sing along with them. Because of practice and listening to them everyday, somehow we are able to sing along. We also have searched for the English meaning of these songs to understand them better.

I am a Filipino but enjoy listening to songs in English as well as other languages. For instance, since I became a fan of The Corrs and Enya, I now love Irish music. The cadence of the words are very lyrical as well as soothing. I have even memorized two Corrs songs sung in Gaelic from their album "Home" because I found the melodies wonderful. And yes, I know what they mean because I researched about them. It would be embarrassing to be caught singing a foreign song and not being able to at least say what's it all about when asked by someone, right? :) I also appreciate Brazilian music especially those sung by Kevyn Lettau, Astrud Gilberto and the Sergio Mendes band.

Yup, i love to listen to songs that are foreign to me. I listen to artists who use different languages in their albums...like Andrea Boccelli for one, also Josh Groban. I listen to World Music as well. You can try the Narada collection, it's really unique or the Puto Mayo albums. It's great to listen to songs that are in a foreign language relative to my native tongue because it gives me a sense of oneness to the human race. Music indeed is a universal language and listening to it in different tongues, celebrates our humanity and our soul feels more alive.

Yes, I listen to songs in other languages, some of which, I totally do not understand at all. My chinese is really bad but I listen to a whole lot of Mandarin songs. Cantonese is ok too, but lately I've been hooked to listening to Korean songs :) I've a few French songs on my playlist as well, as I find them romantic-sounding.

I do listen to many songs in different tongues... And there are so many.... heheheeh... as long as these have good beats or have romantic sounds in them, it wouldn't matter sometimes the meaning as long as the music is good.. Hehehehe
