I absolutely admire them. I'm a daughter of OFWs but despite the distance, I can safely say that my parents did well in raising me and my other 2 siblings. We miss them terribly and I know they miss us too but I understand why they have to go abroad to work. I don't get the chance to say this often but I really admire my parents for fulfilling their roles in our emotional development even when we live thousands of miles apart. Their physical absence in our daily lives have made us into independent beings. My brothers and I are free to do as we please but because of our upbringing we've never gave into bad influences unlike many children who don't have parental supervision. And I owe this to my parents whom I love dearly...

That is a tough answer for me to have to answer. My husband is overseas and I see how it effects my children. The children often feel abandoned by the mother/father that has left and it is very difficult for them to have to readjust to being with another member of the family. I think that it is crucial, more on the mother's part, to be at home because children need their mothers so badly. I commend those women overseas though. I am not downing them at all. I know what it is like to be somewhat military and i respect them very much. I am a military spouse and I raise my three children alone while my husband is away. I commend these women that make the sacrifice of leaving their children to support our country. Just wish they didn't have to if you know what I mean
