We have a habit to drink the soup after a meal. And I think water works the same. I have heard that drinking water after a meal will make you gain weight. If you want to lose weight, then drink water before a meal.

hello buliangxianren, i am not sure but i have been advised many times about not drinking water immediately after taking meals.its different though that i don't follow it.i can't resist water after my meals.i feel so thirsty that its really hard for me.but i know the reason for it.i will share it here, though i don't know how much true it is. when we eat the food gets mixed up with enzymes and acids that gets secreted in our stomach and gets digested.then it goes for absorption.if we drink water then these acids and enzymes will get neutralized to some extent and won't do their job properly, may be the food won't get digested properly.that will lead to less and poor absortion of the nutrients from our food. water is needed for absorption purpose.if we drink it after sometime say 1 hour(though we can't stay that long),by then the food would have got digested and would be getting ready for absortion.so water will really help at that time. i don't know what is right or wrong but i have heard this reason.but i don't follow it as i have said.it depends who thinks it is actually a fact and does accordingly.

Yes and I think the more water we drink the healthier we are. I drink about a 1/2 gallon of water per day and it's not that hard to do! I don't drink soda or any other type of flavored beverage except coffee and fresh squeezed veggie or fruit juice. I've also found that drinking water helps you lose weight, (at least 8-8 ounces of water daily) and this past year I've sure needed to drop more than several pounds lol
