the worst Scenario, down here where I reside (Puerto Rico), this woman dressed her 3-month old baby very pretty in pink with a bow on her head and all and for what? Just to place her in one of the largest rivers in my country. It was almost like she dressed her nicely for her funeral. But then, a miracle! Apparently as that woman left, maybe minutes after these two fisherman were reading to throw their bait when they heard a cry. One of them jumped in the river and got a hold of the bag and when he placed it on dry land (at first he thought it was an animal) but when he opened the bag he was shocked. Thank God, the baby was fine. My only satisfaction was to hear days later the found the lady and sentenced her "TO LIFE"! I personally would of gave her the "DEATH PENALTY" but her layer was able to manage a "mental illness". Now what do you think and how would you have punished this "mad" women?

All over the world, babies, children are abandoned by their parents. If someone wants to give away a child please sent it to me. I want to have a baby.

I say if she wants to plead mental illness give her one. Lock her but up in a room with her baby pictures all over the walls and taunt the chic until she goes crazy and then you can she she is crazy. Because your not mentally crazy if you can fully dress your baby and then kindly place her in a bag that throw into a river you know what the hell your doing the chic need to fry. How you go 9 months carrying a life inside you feeling it move and going through labor with it and then kill it makes no sense to me.(and yes I'm a mom of 3)

Hardworking, thank you on the comment, I'm a mother of 4 (already adults and married) I filed for a divorce while they were 7,5,4, & my youngest daughter 3 months old at that time, I decided to raise them alone and at times things god really tuff but never the thought of even giving them for adoption. I could probably agree is her concensenous of fully dressing her baby but anyway I don't want to speculate about this. Thanks again.

'Mental illness' that can be the other word for irresponsible uncaring stupid and if there are any other words to describe other than this then all those words also how can she be ill and then dress her baby so well how did she nuture her baby for three months and suddenly become ill why didn't she kill herself than throwing the baby there are so many Qtions that can be put all this is nothing but a game of stupidity such mothers should be hanged or killed in the same way they treated the baby . in the first place why give birth to children when they cannot take care of them simply disguisting

it's so sad that still nowadays many of the mothers really abandon and even killed their child, it's really hurt me watching that on television..how they can be a mother if they can easily do that to the poor little child..and about your story, it's different because the mother is suffering from mental illness..maybe, she should be in the mental hospital, then after the treatment and she will be fine, she needs to suffer from prisonment...

While I think it's tragic & horrible, I also know that many women experience profound mental illness in the form of postpartum psycosis (sp?). If family, friends & professionals are unable to spot the symptoms & get the woman help things like this are apt to happen. From what you posted here, it very much sounds like the woman has a mental health condition. I'm happy to hear the child was rescued, but I think it's sad that this woman will spend her life in jail. She needed help before things got this far.

I agree, anyone who commits a violent act, I believe suffers mental health. On the other hand I did not hear or see in the news any relatives. But if she did have close relatives or was living with any, I'm sure they would of detected her mental health condition or if they knew, they should of seeked professional help for her. Thanks for your comment.

That is a very cruel act. Poor baby! For me, someone who will do that had totally lost her mind. If in the last minute she became coward of the responsibility that lies ahead, she should have gone to an orphanage or any instution that allow women to leave their kids, like the fire station in the US. More importantly, she should have think it many times before she indulge in any intimate relationship.

Thanks MarieJ, however, If she (as most agree) was mentally ill to do this to her baby, she probably suffered the same mental health as she indulge in this relationship. I really did not follow the rest or heard further news on this and don't know if she had more kids or family or a relation with anyone, but as much as I watch, no family or relatives came up. Thanks for your opinion
