In choosing a job,do you follow your passion or you pick one base on the salary?

When you are searching for a job what do you consider more, your passion or the salary? Why? Is there anyone here who accepted a job even if it's out of his passion because it pays big? Were you able to love it in time?

Well I look for the money. But i also want to actually know what I'll be doing. For example, if i was a door to door slaesman and I was going to get paid like 9 bucks an hour + comission, I might not do it. It also depends on what i got to do. SO ic an't say I just look at the money. But if the pay is really really good, I might just bite down and go with it and stick it out, or atleast until i get tierd of it

Well, personally I want to be in a job that is inclined to my interests; however, if I really badly need a money and there is a certain position that offers big salary and is not too demanding/tiring even if it is out of my interest, I will for sure consider getting it.

I follow my passion. The love of work will makes us excited and will give us the energy. Money will follow soon. What is important for me is the feeling of contentment that I love what I am doing. At first, I went for one based on salary but I feel to depressed and stressed. Now, that I love what I am doing, life seems to run smoothly and better everyday.

Same here. I had a work before which my heart didn't beat for it and I barely reached 3 months there. Good that they didn't let me sign a contract yet.

I would pick my passion. Money won't ever make you happy if your job is miserable.

So far I have followed my passion and honestly speaking my passion hasn't paid me money, but soul satisfaction. As long as I remained contented from heart, it's enough. I don't believe in getting stressed working 8 hours, where 8 hours is on paper and 15 hours is what they make you work and finally pay you meager amount. It's better you be happy and follow your passions and live a free life like a bird flying across different horizons. It's better to follow your passion and carve your own path. I believe I can do it. I don't know how many others do.

Wow! I admire you for doing that cobradene. Yes, you are right, if there's nothing you are forcefully doing, then you will really become happy.

For me,I just want a job from which I can learn a lot, because I think I have no rights to consider the salary at the present time, although I do need it.Otherwise, the job I searching for must be relative to my major which I like, and I will take it as my lifework.

When I started my career, I had no idea about what I wanted to do except to earn money. So my first job was based on the money part. Then I joined my next job because some of my loved one suggested me and I had always liked being with him. So I joined him. This way I have been selecting the jobs not only based on the salary but I have always felt that you must enjoy what you are doing, and if you are enjoying then money does not matter much. I had resigned from one job with a very big house, which was paying me handsome amount but I was not enjoying it. Ultimately, I felt happier with smaller company although I had to worker harder but I had powers to decide what was to be done by me and I was accountable for that work anytime. So while deciding I feel that one must consider ones own nature and the type of work one likes. Salary should not be given undue importance.

thank you for sharing both side deserve40. I also tried working two environments before, one is very related to my profession the other one is not just to determine which one I am more fitting. Why? Few months before I graduated with my course, there was like a mild change in interest and plans.

For me salary is not only a primary thing, when i consider any job.I consider job atmosphere also.If we jet more money without any satisfaction, then it is very bad.At present i am working in a networking firm and i joined this firm for last three year. Now i am enjoying my job, beacuase here every one is very cooperative, from top level to bottom level.
