Nemanja Vidic (born October 21, 1981 in Titovo Užice, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian footballer. He plays for the English club Manchester United in the Premier League and at the international level for Serbian national football team.
He is now recognized as one of the best defenders in the FA Premiership and in Europe. Nicknamed Vida by his Manchester United teammates, he is highly regarded for his physical presence, heading ability in both defense and at attacking set pieces, and bravery. Because of this, he enjoys a cult status among United faithful and is often compared to former Manchester United defender Steve Bruce for having similar characteristics.
Vidic won Serbia's Overseas Player of the Year award for 2005, playing for Spartak Moscow, a poll of the captains of the 16 clubs in the Serbian Superliga that is organized every year by daily newspaper Vecernje novosti. He was named in the 2006/07 PFA Premiership Team of the Season alongside seven of his fellow Manchester United teammates. He was shortlisted on 31 August, 2007 for UEFA European Club Defender of the Year and was again shortlisted on 25 September, 2007 for FIFPro World XI player award

I think Nemanja Vidic can be considered as one of the best buy by Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson alongside the likes of Eric Cantona, Jaap Stam and Peter Schmeichel. We know how Rio Ferdinand could sometime lose concentration during the match and this could be fatal for the team but with rock-solid Vidic playing beside him, Manchester United fans could be assured that there's always a cover. Ferdinand-Vidic partnership in front of goalkeeper Edwin van Der Sar was one of the reason Manchester United managed to win the Premiership title last season

I'm sorry if I'm stressing you with my football players birthdays. I'm only posting on players from my favorite clubs (Steaua Bucharest, Juventus Torino, FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund) or really great players (like Sir Bobby Charlton, Franz Beckenbauer, Franco Baresi), because if I'd post a discussion on every player there will be more than 20 discussions every day.
