We went to the Merrifield Fall Festival on Saturday and there was a Dr and his assistant there giving free stress tests/consulations and it just so happens that when my husband stood on the scales, he actually leans a lot to the right (Mr Loppy I call him LOL) - I had never actually noticed it but now when I told him to stand straight up, he really does lean to the right LOL weird. His back is always needed to be cracked and he has me walking on it every so often to crack it! Have you ever had such a test? have you had problems with your back and most importantly your spine? Is yours aligned properly? or is yours out of whack like my husbands LOL He has a appointment with the Chiropractor this afternoon so hopefully it's nothing major and that they are able to realign his spine or do whatever they need to do to get him standing straight up :)

Hi, Unfortunatly yes. 10 years back I was operated on . Hernia. On the bottom of my back. The operation was a success and I was oke for 10 years more .And this year the pains in my legs started all over again. And I have lost my work. I can no longer do that work anymore. It has been almost 6 months know. All kinds of therapy, heat , hanging me upside down. (lol, it helps the best, sounds stupid, i know, but it pulls the backs bones away from each other)The heat stuff , does not help. My back is worn out know. The bones touch each other, and that causes the pain.Hard to explain. And My back is not staight either. Also to the right. Never noticed. Nobody did. The dokter saw it on the fotos, scans. At the end of this month I am getting another new therapy. If that does not work, they will have to operate again. I cannot even clean my house without having pain for at least 3 days. Cannot do the grocerys all the time, some days I can hardly walk. But, oke there are worse things in life. I will get there. I hope your husband has better luck with his back. If he has no pain, or problem with the not being standing straight. My advies would be to exercise a little. situps and things that make your stomach stronger. That takes the stress off of the back. Well, hopefully it will all be nothing serious. Take care.

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I also had a herniated disc in my lower back and opted out of surgery. Had physio and changed my routine and it seemed to work for me. I know what you mean by the pain and how bad it can get. SOmetimes I couldn't even walk and when I tried to it hurt even more. I hated shopping when I had my back pain. I hope its gets better with the new therapy - hang in there Margajoe - you're in my thoughts! Your right about losing weight and exercising more - thats what the doctor said and once he studies the tests and come up with a plan, i'm sure it will involved back stretches, losing weight and sorts. Thanks Margajoe for sharing with us :) TAke Care!

LOL! Not heavy enough anymore? Wow, that means your diet went and is going well for you. Way to go! Hope he gets better soon. Proably needs to exercise alot too. Next week, I am going for a new therapy. They are going to turn me inside out. And I will be accompanied by dokters who will teach me better ways to exercise, so I don´t hurt myself , and cannot walk for 3 or 4 days. My back is worn out. But, at the same time they are going to help me get my life back together, hopefully help me get a job that I will enjoy going to. I would like that. Being at home for a while is great, but after a while it starts to be a drag. No one around, my affiliate sites are not doing well. I have no one to complain to. Exept here at My Lot. LOL. But it is not the same as someone sitting beside you. It´s almost the same, but not the same. LOL. I think I need to go to sleep. It is already 1:37 here. Accually it is 2:37 because the time changed last night. Take care.

Oh yes the spine is very important and Im glad your husband is being realign or they sometimes called adjusted. Not to worry he will be fine. I use to work for a chiropractor I did the billing. And he would always give me free alignments. LOL Perks of the job.LOL

Speaking about billing, are they expensive? they do take our PPO but just wondering how much they charge for things like that?

Well luckily they are in our PPO so we only had to pay $40 for this visit. Lots of tests were done and xrays so he will know on Wednesday the prognosis of all the tests and then go from there. We were there for over an hour and a hal. My husband wanted us to accompany him so we did - several magazines and drawing pictures later it was time to go!

I do not think that your husband having back problems is funny. It is serious. If he does any heavy work, he may have to quit work and be retrained and that would mean less money coming in the house. ( next time, use your LOL wisely.) I hope when he gets to a Chiropractor and he gets it straightened out. I was playing on the gate when I was a child and fell down and hit my head, putting my spine out. I had to go to the Chiropractor to get it fixed when I was older and it made me much better. I could stand straighter and my hips were no longer lopsided.

By the way he is a IT Specialist and does not do any heavy lifting at work or at home. I don't like to think negative on any issue and always add LOL's to make it seem not so bad (if you know what I mean)

My sister has scholeosis(I know I didn't even spell that right:P) and she has a very hard time with her back. It was just found earlier this year and she has been having back treatments for several months now. I know I should probably have mine checked because I get a lot of back aches. My husband has back problems too and I always tell him he needs to see a chiropractor, but we don't have insurance. I just hate to see him suffer.

Sorry to hear that Flight. Does the new job you have offer medical insurance?

Not yet. I hope they offer it soon, but it's a fairly new daycare and they are still trying to get themselves together. My husband is self-employed, so he doesn't have work insurance either.

Make sure you tell your husband that the chiropractor will not "cure" him in just one visit. I went to mine for a pinched nerve in my back that was excruciating. I had to see him 3 times a week at first, then 2 per week, down to once a week. The entire course of treatment took one year, BUT that was more than 17 years ago and I have NEVER experienced that pain again. I used to get it quite often up until then, so I highly recommend going to the chiropractor.

There was a chiropractor at the Eco-Expo a few weeks ago. Actually, there were two. I had this done by one and my head tilts to the left. When my husband had it done by the other chiro, he looked worse than I did and I'm the one with fibromyalgia! I had an appointment with the chiro for a free consultation but woke up sick that morning and cancelled. I never rescheduled. I'm not a fan of chiropractors and had actually told the guy of my bad past experiences and he tried to brush it off as it having been 15 years ago. I don't think things have changed THAT much as far as aligning the body with adjustments is concerned.

Poor hubby, how could you tease a handicap person? LOL. Or should I say how could you have married a crooked man? Ha. Okay, that is enough, I am done. I have had problems with my lower back on many different occassions, for many different reasons. The main one I suppose is because of my weight. I have not had any problems lately though, thank God.

LOL Mr Loppy is what I call him now haha! He thought initially it had to do with his weight and aging too but looks like there is more to it. Lots of tests and stuff done today, by Wednesday we should know the outcome of these tests - he also has high blood pressure which is something he has to seriously look into i.e. quit smoking and eating less salty food.

I think that could also be another reason why my husband also gets back aches because he job entails sitting at a computer for long hours - he says when he stands up there is a sharp pain in his tail bone. Hope you're feeling ok!
