If anyone has any questions about why it is important for the government to respect gun ownership, New Orleans has given us all the prove we need. After Hurricane Katrina, the government made the UNCONSTITUTIONAL mistake of taking guns away from the citizens. Now the violent crime rate in that city is 7 times the national average. The police force is useless, in fact, they rarely respond to any call. It is time we insist our government officials RESPECT our rights instead of insisting they RESTRICT our rights!

It is part of a larger belief that one can regulate a society into a utopia. People feel if you can just create enough rules and agencies that society will just fall in to line and ignore the basic and inescapable truths of the human nature. Do things that sound nice but in reality are simply at absolute odds with humanity and the basic laws of natural universal course. There are those that believe the individual is absolutely incapable of being responsable for himself and that government is needed to save us from our pathetic and helpless selves. I saw Ron paul mentioned here I think and I would love to see him run as an independant, I think he could do wel;l. I just responded a short while ago in a thread about him and I think it lays that thought out well, feel free to check it out. I did it in the form of on the side election analyisis rather than personal thought so it may tick a few people off but if ron paul is to win the election, this is what he must do and why. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1311224.aspx

I like Ron Paul, but if he is elected all he will really accomplish is fanning flames to all the "9/11 was an inside job" stupidity. I think Ron Paul belongs just where he is.

You haven't been paying attention, Ted. Ron Paul denounced the truthers about a month ago. I don't even care, he's still the best be we have going and the only one who even acts like he gives a rats azz about freedom.

It's just another way for them to control you. They don't want you to have any rights what so ever - not even the right to protect yourself or your family.

Bravo! At risk of sounding like a broken record, those who don't like living by our U.S. Constitution and amended rights thereof can feel free to get the hell out.
