I am in Australia and my kids love to go trick or treating but we are pretty much the only family that does it around here and half the houses we go to are really rude to my kids!!I was just wondering why it is so popular everywhere else but here?what does it mean?

It originally came from a pagan festival and originated therefore in Britain as before we became christian we were pagan. It is celebrated in US as I imagine it came from the British people who went to live there when it was first being settled. Australia was populated by British convicts and immigrants but I am not sure why they didn't embrace this festival like US have.

Well it's not that popular in the town I live in, Kent in th UK. Right old miseries. The old boy over the road told my kids to 'buzz off' last year otherwise he was calling the police. They were only 7 & 8 and I was standing at his gate. Old goat!
