I do find it bothers me, when the response goes into a different direction, or when, well one time the poster told her troubles and asked us if we could help her, so we gave her suggestions, along with the usual do not worry it will get better bit, but then one of the posters decided to do the onupmanship by posting some horrible disaster that had happened to him, and it was not to show her how he overcame it, but was to say, 'I can make a better horrific disaster than you." Then there are the "Hi there, I love yellow" or some such nonsense. I usually have to write to explain what the post was really about and that they misunderstood, but I do not like doing so. I like to be understood.

I don't mind mistakes in English, but when people seem to be deliberately misreading and then become argumentative on top of it, I start to wonder what kind of people we have here. Sometimes people make very funny mistakes and have the maturity to laugh along with the rest of us as in the case where a very sweet and smart lady was telling us about some "soup" she made but she spelled it "soap." That would not taste very good! Well, I have typed faster than thinking from time to time and made a mistake here and there myself. I have also tried to politely correct a few mistakes other people have made, but unless they were particularly vicious (which I've only seen a few times), I have always tried to be very considerate in doing so.

Lol.Wasn't this me?By the way?I had always problem with soap and soup, just cannot remeber it.But i am positive I was looking to disctionary for it to not mess it up and you see I still did. Yeah we all make mistakes, but sometimes it sound like some people are coming here just to argue.

What is most frustrating is when they don't read any of the other replies and then say the same thing six other people said--or my most unfavorite is when they reply just to say "I don't know!" When it is just a typo, especially a funny typo, that is no problem at all. That is just human, a trait we admire.

I get a bit annoyed when people don't bother to read the discussion properly, they merely add a single word or line, usually nothing to do with the discussions anyway. If someone's English isn't that good but they have made an effort to respond with an intelligent comment, that's different.

Sometimes it can be hard to communicate effectively over the internet. Sometimes just one word can change the entire meaning of what someone is trying to say. I am learning to ignore people who make smart remarks on my topics. It can be very tempting to say something back at them. I do not get upset with the people who are not good spellers or who don't speak good English. We all make typos and I am not the best speller in the world. If I do not understand what a person is trying to say, I will skip them.

I guess on chat sites there are always going to be people who like to argue. I just tend to let it go and not get involved unless it is serious debate in which something can be learned from the discussion. We can agree to disagree, but I really can't see the point of name-calling to people we have never met. Words on a screen only "point" to the person who wrote them - the real person will invariably be different to the image we each hold of them. :-)

It doesn't bother me. I am learning how to perfect my English like anyone else. My interactions here at myLot are one good opportunity to learn and express myself. To become judgmental about others arguments is none of mu business. I am here to learn and earn while improving my communication skills. Spread the love!

I can understand why some people have poor English spelling skills. A large amount of mylot members are not from English speaking countries and this is one of the places they are practicing English. What really gets me is when people who do know English, but still spell half of their post wrong. Spellcheck is a great invention and more people should use it. I can overlook one or two words being misspelled since I do that too sometimes. As for answering the questions without understanding them, I can work with that until the person starts getting snippy and defensive with me.

Yeah, it bothers me quite a bit... Especially when they post a totally different response than what they should have responded. Oh and the worst part is when you post a discussion about how bad you feel or what happened to someone and they come saying: "Thank yu for shearing. I did'nt know that" (spelling errors here are on purpose) or "Welcome to mylot. You can earn here by posting ...." etc etc. They drive me insane. Sometimes I just want to tell them to their faces how lame they are but I tend to keep a friendly attitude here... And, yeah, my English isn't perfect either, but at least I don't post just for the sake of posting...

Much better if you can provide that link, at least all of us can go through what was the topic of discussion all about. In this case, I think we can leave it behind or just say 'thank you' to those who like to ignite small flame. On here we are on open discussion, everybody has right to say as far as not going beyond the discussion guideline. It is OK, Laurika. Be cool and leave them behind as rolling stone gathers no moss AND blue are the hills that are far away. Thanks, Laurika.

Mylot tends to delete discussions if we provide a link to the response that upset us. They think of it as ganging up on the poster in question.

hi laurika. you cannot expect everyone to think in a way u think. each individual may interpret the question differently. And coming to the level of english part nobody is perfect. You say people with poor english make you sick, have you looked at your english? Please look at yourself before pointing fingers at others.

i dont think its necessary to debate about error grammar or spelling check. as long as we catch the meaning of the sentences, why should be argue? so its not bother me much when i saw wrong spelling grammar or words. its just small thing, isn't it?

I can't say it bother me too much here. It is a place of people from all over the globe. There may be some people who do not understand a particular language very well. But it is indicated in their answer whether that person don't undrstand too well or he/she is not reading that well. If i notice that it is answered without reading and undrstanding the discussion then it bothers me too.

It used to bother me, but I feel that these people who try to cover their bases by being a jerk, are more ignorant than anything. And I don't mean ignorant in a way that would have to do with their spelling or comprehension of the post. There is just no call to be rude, even when a person misunderstands. It shows a great lack of class, wherever the person may live, and whatever the language they may speak.

Everyone, even people with good english can misunderstand something at one point or other. Of course if english is not the main language that can happen even more often. It doesn't necessarily bother me because smart a** answers are usually ignored by me regardless of the quality of the english used. I applaud every single poster that doesn't have english as first language and is here making an effort to respond or post discussions. Even if their answers are a bit off, I still am glad that they tried. I know that sometimes it is easy to classify an answer as this or that, but sometimes it's not what it's meant, so I try not to get too worked up or get bothered by some answers.

I understand that some people do not have the best grammatical skills but it really annoys me when I can't even make out what they are trying to say. That is probably one of my biggest pet peeves. If I come across someone who has started a discussion and can't even spell I usually just skip on to the next conversation.
