Okay, I gotta say, I'm getting kinda tired of answering this same question over and over again. It is "sports entertainment", no it's not fake, it's scripted, there's a difference, if you use the word "fake" then you gotta say that all movies and all television shows are fake, but we wouldn't really call them that, would we? Yes, the storylines are set, wins and losses are predetermined, but what you see in the ring, is not something that just about anyone can do. It requires great athleticism and training, and not just that, you need to be able to entertain a live crowd of thousands day in and day out, and I really respect these guys for that. The WWE doesn't claim to be "real" as you would put it, they are self proclaimed as sports "entertainment", and as they say "it is sports entertainment but the hazards are real". As Patty said in one of the discussions, that it's actually really really hard to pretend to hurt someone really bad, when actually you're trying not to hurt them too much. The real fans of WWE, like me, know all the tips and tricks, like the blood for example, most of the times it's real. But it's self inflicted, a wrestler would cut himself with a blade on the forehead during the match, just a superficial wound, head wounds tend to bleed a lot, and mixed with sweat, it's actually a pretty great effect. Or they cut themselves before the match, since it's small you don't notice it, but during the fight, it gets busted open since it's a fresh wound, and voila you have blood, it looks so violent, but actually is not so much. See, I respect wrestlers because they do this stuff day in and day out, and they work hard at it, it's not an easy job, and it does take the toll on the bodies of these wrestlers too. I mean they do get injured, they do get seriously hurt sometimes. The storylines might seem soap operaish, but to tell you the truth, I'd watch WWE any day, than watch any other TV show, or soap opera. I know all the tips and tricks, well, most of them, and yet I love it, and you will actually see that real fans of wrestling know all this stuff, and still love watching it. That's the beauty of it.

Yeah, sure it's entertainment, but it's the most athletic form of entertainment out there, it can still be categorized as "sports entertainment", and well, at least it's less violent than boxing, which is classified as an actual sport.

I agree to the above lines a 100 and 10%.........really true....WWE is an entertainment not a sport, it should compared with stage dramas, movies or dramas, not with other sports, plus....WWE is such a game which can not be...and shouldn't be real!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't say it's fake. It's pre-determined yes but fake no. Injuries do happen for real and there's no director coming in there and yelling cut and getting stunt doubles. You have to be a real good athlete to perform some of the moves that are required and have good staminia. At least that's what I believe anyway. Some non fans won't agree and that's just the way it is.
