I always prefer to take the back roads but living near Houston Tx you are always in traffic where ever you go,unless it is just right around where i live..To do any shopping you have to get into a lot of traffic.I have lived here most of my life,so what i am use to would probably drive others insane.I have done this most of my life so its like second nature to me,but its home so i stay and fight the traffic...They are doing a lot of road work on the freeways now so it makes it even worse..It seems they are going to be working forever.I would think it would be nice not to have to battle traffic though...

yah.. I'm geared for slow.. and love quietness and also solitude! So the back roads of the slower Midwest is just right for me.. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind living further out in the boonies..

I love exploring the cities backroads, my hubby has a job that involves getting posted around the country and its real fun to get in to a new city and then explore it from one end to the other. I drive a two wheeler so , its usually oky, I have enough gas to get back so okay lets keep going on this route , lets see where we will end up, for me its always I do have a choice to turn back if I get lost. Its so fun that way.

Hubby and I did some beautiful two wheel riding last weekend, in order to enjoy all the wonderful fall foliage.. Mostly on back roads, past farms and high hills.. it was awesome!

I'm with you girl. I like the back roads much better than the highway. Less traffic, less road rage, and probably a smaller chance of having an accident, although that doesn't factor in my decisions to use the back roads. If I'm pressed for time I'll use the highway or interstate, but I prefer the back roads.

I like being driving on the highways. I find it the easiest to drive on because all you do is go straight and drive 55-65 miles per hour which is pretty easy. The only difficult part of driving on highway is switching through lanes when there is a lot of traffic that is really tough to do. But I like driving on the highway even though it can make you very sleepy.

I'm a back roads person :) I used to love the highways but people drive way too fast there and you really don't see the world the way you can on the back roads - I love doing what we call 'road trips' pack a lunch and just pick a direction or destination but we take all back roads. Over the years we've had some wonderful experiences doing this and had great fun.
