The people that leave us go to another place but there are some that are stuck in the middle and most people say they are ghosts (which is true!)but they have unfinished business that they need to clear up before moving on.
Have you had experiences of these happenings?

Yes, I've had quite a few experiences of spirits. Some coming back when the veil between the two worlds is at its thinnest, and some whom are still waiting to cross the bridge. None of them have been disturbing... they have all been amicable... mostly friends and family, but, the odd few aren't... I'll tell you something that happened only a few days ago.
I knew my friend's Mother was seriously ill in hospital, and I knew she wasn't expected to make it through Tuesday night, but I was told that in the late afternoon. I had to go to a meeting in the evening, at eight o'clock, and had no idea about how things were going with her. I came back home, and sat up on the computer... for one thing, I had some stuff to catch up on, like the darts league site, and for another, I wanted to be here, just in case.
My heaters had kicked in and the room was warmish, but at around twenty five past two on Wednesday morning, I felt a cold draft... just for a few seconds. It went across my back from my right, to my left, towards the window. It was so sudden, and so cold, it caused me to look round... naturally, I saw nothing but I felt a presence. I guessed that possibly my friend's Mother's spirit had left the hospital bed and was here, for some reason. I never met her, but I have a very strong spiritual connection with my friend. I just felt it was her.
Anyway... I'm rambling on a bit. That evening, at about five thirty, I received an e-mail from my friend, telling me that the Mother had passed away, peacefully, in her sleep at around two thirty. So, I guessed my feelings were right... she possibly was checking that I was here for him. I haven't told him that, but I wrote a poem and sent to my friend, on the strength of that experience. I doubt I'll ever tell what happened that night, but I feel quite blessed to have received the "visit".
Brightest Blessings my dear friend, in perfect love and perfect trust. x

Even not having met the mother of your friend there must have been a spiritual connection involved for you to get a visit and it was nice to be visited. It was nice of you to create a poem and send it to your friend so that he has something to remember of the events that have passed.
Brightest blessing to you as well my friend.

Yes, I didn't know if he'd be ready to read the poem just yet, but he obviously did and was, because he left me an offline saying thank you, and that the poem was very moving and much appreciated. I just wanted him to feel that she's not gone forever... maybe she willed me to do that, I don't know, but for whatever reason, I felt the need to help him feel calm about the whole thing.
