Halloween? Thanksgiving? Christmas? New Year's Day? Rose Parade!! Wait that's another discussion. LOL. Okay, which is your favorite? I can pass on the Halloween thing but I must admit I love going through the bags of candy the kids bring back. Don't like being scared though. Don't get all bruhaha on me now. So between Thanksgiving and Christmas I would have to say . . . dunno! Love them both cause we get to see family, all gazillion of them. And the food, of course, THE FOOD!! Enough said. Tell us about your favorite Holiday.

Christmas always . will soon be putting up and checking out lights and all take about a month to get it all up. Then we love to go walking around the neighbor hood to see what others have decorated with . When we moved here in this neighbor hood in 2001 we wre the only ones to decorate noe the wole block does .!

Ah, your influence is astounding. So does it snow in your parts? I never thought of it snowing in Vegas. It gets very cold right? One of these years I will have a white Christmas again. Thanks, Lakota for stopping by.

I like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas...but my favorite out of ALL the holidays I celebrate has to be Halloween. I love a holiday centered completely around darkness and the supernatural, even if said things don't really crisscross quite so often in real life. I was raised on horror, not that much spooks me so...it's more fun than anything else...and besides it gives me an excuse for dressing up "weird", _ the one day a year I don't turn heads lol.

Heehee, you sound like a fun person to hang out with. I like "weird." And why don't you think that darkness and the supernatural don't crisscross in real life? Mmmmmm.

Lol I think some things do, just not all things...especially as society purports them to be.

My absolute favorite is Christmas. Then it is a toss up between Thanksgiving and Halloween. But I adore everything about Christmas. I love the lights, the decorations, the cards, the shopping, the baking, the cooking, the family time, the presents. I love it all. Every year I make new stockings for my family, dogs included. I make pillow covers to go with my theme. I make new curtains for my living room. I made a tree skirt last year that we are using now. I buy window clings and we decorate the windows. I make sugar cookies and we spread them with peanut butter and dip them in birdseed for the birds. I bake until there is no more room in my house and give the bake goods to my neighbors, family, friends, anyone who happens to come by. I send out Christmas cards to everyone in my address book, business included. I go all out for Christmas. I just love the whole spirit of Christmas and how good it makes you feel. I wish that we could feel that way all year long. I try, but it sure is hard sometimes.

My favorite holiday is Christmasa and New Year, because it is a loooooong vacation. I almost wanted that because, for a fact that it has a long vacation and you have a 13th month pay. You can eat what you want, forget about the diet thing. and you will reunite with your loved ones and relatives.

Yah, I like when nobody cares what you're eating. And no work for two weeks, I know, I know. Wait . . . I freelance. Never get a day of work. Hehehehe. Christmas though is my favorite because family members start acting all nice again. LOL. Can't wait.

Sounds like it's warm in your part of the country. Must be beautiful to have the beach and the forest around. That's how it was for us in Australia. But the holidays were pretty hot there. I like cold, for some reason, when Christmas rolls around. Have a wonderful day viroop.

Halloween is my all time favorite holiday. I love seeing all the different costumes the kids come out in. Most of the costumes are the ones that people can buy in stores but a few of the kids come out in homemade costumes. I don't decorate my house in a really spooky manner for Halloween. I prefer to just put out some cute decorations I've picked up at the Micheals store and put up some orange lights. I also love to carve pumpkins and display them for Halloween. After I carve the pumpkins I usually roast the seeds and those make a nice snack.

The best part Halloween is roasting the pumpkin seeds. Yum. You're right, they make a great snack.

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I just love spending time with all of my family. I don't really celebrate Halloween. I mean my kids dress up and go trick-or-treating, but I don't decorate or hand out candy.

Christmas is in the lead. I love it too. As for Halloween I've never celebrated it either. Just like you I let my kids go trick-or-treating but no decorations for the house. Last year we started handing out candy to kids because a gazillion of them know us and we were kind of a safe house in the desert. So we'll probably do it again this year.

I think I would have to choose Christmas. It's not so much because of the food or the presents, it's just the atmosphere of it all. Thanksgiving is alright but it's usually just a hectic day with too much to do and not enough fun. I do like the fun side of Halloween too but s/o is somewhat of a scrooge about it so I never get to have as much fun as I'd like to have...same goes for the other holidays too but that is another discussion.

Every chance of sharing happiness is great. We Pakistani Moslems are not familiar with the great days you quoted in your discussion, but I learnt here that these are happy days of our life. Life is full of sorrows and we get a little chance to celebrate a happy day. You can call them with any name. Rose will always distribute its flavor, odor, color and freshness if you call it with any name. Every day which gives happiness to you should favorite to me. Because I am seeking love and peace and happiness all over the world and world wide net is one the best sources to share it. Wish you best of luck gtargirl.

I like Halloween for the atmosphere and the movies. I like Thanksgiving for ONLY the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. I like Christmas for the atmosphere, decorations, music and movies. So in that list...I guess I'd say Christmas cause it's got the most likes.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, I really get into the spirit from the decorations to the carols and the food. It's so much fun for me, I used to be in charge of the family dinners for about 40-60 people so I would start my planning months ahead and try out recipes. I always had themes for everything, like the last year I did it was chocolate covered for dessert. So we had things like chocolate covered cookies and fruits that I made, chocolate covered flan, chocolate martinis, etc. I would start cooking 3 days in advance since I'd make it all from scratch. Since moving so far from the family, the holidays are now for 2 vs. 60 but it's still fun.

I love every holidays. whether it be halloween or christmas or national's heroes day. I love them all. I love food too. I like to eat. especially home cooked meals made by my mother. we spend the christmas season in our house. and spend new year's day in my mother in laws house. I love the holidays. there is no work and even if it would last for merely a day I love it very much. I can not choose a favorite though since I love them all.

I agree with you on this discussion. Thanksgiving and Christmas are both holidays I really enjoy. We have a daughter out of state but do get to spend Thanksgiving with she and her family each year. Also get to see our grandkids so I have to lean towards Thanksgiving. This year one of our daughter's is going to be married the day after Thanksgiving so all kinds of family and friends will be in town for both big celebrations. Will be rather interesting and fun.

My favorites are Christmas and New Year because everyone in the family make it sure that they are present. It's like a reunion with a lot of foods in the house! hehehe. However, for this year, I am looking forward to all of the holidays that you mentioned here since it is my first time to spend it with my husband (just married this year); however, it is also my first time to be away from my parents back home. See? The mixed emotion makes it extra special. Oh, This is also my first time to celebrate Thanksgiving since we don't have that in the Philippines. So, a lot of things to look forward to.
