On Thursday nights, we have a young pro cell group--a fellowship of young professionals in our church. Once a month, we try to have fun outside of the church. And tonight, it was a gastronomic adventure. We decided to go to a red light district, not to to some hanky panky, but to eat. There in the the midst of that place was a small eatery that serves Soup #5. Soup #5 is a soup made from cow's balls mixed with some innards like heart and spleen, slowcooked to become tender and made flaming hot with chopped chilis and crushed black pepper. It was well seasoned, too, and accentuated with a few slices of carrots and potatoes.. Sipping the hot soup made our foreheads dripping with sweat, but it was so good that we wanted more. Never mind the arthritis or the uric acid it contains, plus the cholesterol and fat. Each one of us had a bowl, because the waitress told us that a bowl is only good for one person. But it was a BIG bowl and we had to finish everything. I was told before that Soup #5 is aprhodisiac. I dunno, it didn't really have an effect on me of that sort, except that I was so full afterwards. Aphrodisiac or not, it is one dish that you shouldn't miss!:-)

I for one will not be trying it LOL. I grew up very poor and we ate whatever ran through the yard. We ate, frog, crawfish (they were in our yard, I swear), possum, skunk, armadillo, etc. Now, I'm still poor but not that poor, I know that there is perfectly good meat like chicken, pork and beef at the supermarket LOL!
