Vonage...Anyone Here Have It?

I see "Vonage" advertised constantly and I was wondering exactly how it works. OK, I'll admit to being a bit of a dummy with some of this new-fangled technology...lol. What I'd like to know is if I were to get cable Internet service - which I've been comtemplating for some time now - does that mean I could sign up for Vonage and use my same phone, keep my same number and get all the services I have now? If I'm figuring right it would save me a good bit each month, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would be worth switching. Thanks!

I receive frequent offers in the mail to try Vonage, anniepa. It sounds like a good deal, but I don't have the equipment it would take to use the technology. It might be worth giving it a try. For awhile I was switching phone carriers pretty often, but I finally ended back up where I started. The service I get is fine and I will stay with it.
