Myspace and Facebook...Drama magnets?

A lot of us have a myspace or a facebook profile these days. What I am noticing and from my own experience lately are that these sites can be drama magnets. While they are good with keeping up with your friends, they also tend to cause tension. For example, a person takes you off of their friends list after going through something and you're offended by that...there is drama. Or someone posts a bulletin you're offended by...then there is drama. I am learning to limit my profiles and only use them for friends I have known a very long time. I am also finally not taking the world of myspace personally anymore. It is not worth it. What about those of you out there? Have these sites been drama magnets for you?

Yes I can see how a place such as facebook would turn into a big drama scene. There are so many people on there and so much opportunity for drama. For example, facebook has a "top friends" application on there, I bet people who don't appear on that list could get rather bitter, better online than in person I guess though, right?

I have not seen this option on facebook, but have on myspace. Yes, I have known people who have been miffed by that. As for me, I don't care. I like to add people like Shatner to my friends.

I think so. My sister and a few girls at work have had their share of MySpace drama. I don't do Facebook or MySpace, so I don't personally have any experience with either. I think they could be called drama magnets though because people act crazy on those sites. It's easy to start trouble wih someone you don't know and don't have to face everyday. I think it causes problems at schools too. Kids have their profiles and start stuff about other kids at school and it gets around. You can't have that many people on a site and not expect trouble of some kind.
