I do not like cell phones and I had already surrendered the connection. I have two landlnes one in the office and the other is at residence. From office to home is only 200 metres distance, I can evenpick up the phone at home by being at office.

There is always a possibility of having two connections from one phone if the distance is less than 500 metres. I purchase a new phone and drawn a wire from the residence land line. When it rings there, it also rings here. This system is as old as telephone.

I use my land line far more than my cell phone. I work out of my house so I only use my cell when I am out running errands or whatever. I like having a cell phone but I don't like to be on the phone when I am not home. Usually I am leaving home to get away from the telephone!

Hi, I often use landline when I am at home and use the mobile when I am out obviously. In my country calling by landline is cheap or I can say it is free when I am making a local call. So I prefer landlines when I am at home.

With more and more people now possesing cell phones the useage of these have also increased. Rather now you wont find a landline in many homes. Actually in our country there are several promotional schemes which promote call from mobile to mobile as it is cheaper than calling toa landline. Moreover operators are even offering no charges to local calls on their own network this has led to increased use of cellphones and landlines are reducing in numbers.

I use my landline much more often than I use my cellphone. My landline is cheaper. Last month, however, there was a problem with my landline and I had to use my cellphone. I am really dredding the bill, when it finally gets here. I know it'll be atleast $100.

I think i hav perfect balance in using these two techs ... I use them but i feel telephones r losing their importance because of the cell phones... Now thats my guess...

I don't think they are losing their importance.. Importance has got nothing to do with it.. It wud be better to say that cellphones are replacing them, which offer far better facilities than the landlines... Thanks for the response neways...

I use my cellphone more often, I frequently receive text messages from friends and relatives. My aunt from Dubai calls me on my cellphone, too. But there are telecoms in the Philippines that offer landlines that can be used like celfones, called wireless landlines. It's good cause now you can carry them anywhere and can be called not with a long distance rate but regular calls.

many people especially college student have given up land lines just for cell phones. My parents have also done the same thing. I think that within the next 5 years everyone will just be cell phone, or have voip.

I use my landline more than I do my cell cause I work from home and it's so much easier....Also my cell is a track phone and being elderly it's kind of hard for my fingers to hit those keys...But I also can say I'm lucky to have grandchildren who help me learn this new stuff. I remember when my parnets frist got a phone that you had to crank and talk to an operator to get hooked up to another person we sure have come a long way since then. It's also great when your grand kids say "Hey we got a cool Grandma cause she likes to learn all this new stuff. And she sure isn't ashamed to learn from us on how to set it up..."

I use cellphone more often than landline. It is more convenient to use cellphone than landline since I carry my cellphone with me when I'm not at home.

I use my cellphone more often because it's more convenient; you can carry it around. If I'm the one doing the calling, I prefer landlines especially when I'm at work because I don't like using my personal cellphone for business calls unless it's really important or urgent. If the call can wait, I'll be using the landline. Also when I'm at home, I do use the landline for calls. But when I'm asked for contact details, I usually give out my cellphone number first because I'm often out of the house. And I often have my cellphone beside me for text messaging purposes.

I definately use my landline phone more than my cell phone because I do not have a cell phone...lol Good reason I suppose. My kids have cell phones and I guess I just don't feel a need to have one myself because 99% of the time, we are together anyway.

i have my own cellphone and we have landline at home. however, when calling, landline is cheaper but when you are not at home, cellphone is a must-have because with a cellphone, you can send message to your friends and other people too. :)
