Hi guys! With encouragement from Grandpa Bob a good friend here, I am doing a series of discussions today on gifts my hubby has brought to me from his recent tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. I will be adding a photo of each item with each discussion. Would love to hear about your unique and wonderful gifts from other parts of the world or a gift from a loved one and feel free to post a picture! This first discussion is going to be about my hall runner from Afghanistan. There is a good story behind this rug as well. My husband was in contact with an Afghani general and he befriended this man and some of his colleagues. My husband and a few others were invited to visit his home which is a big honor apparently, he provided a huge feast and let them swim in his swimming pool. He asked my husband if he would like this rug which was in his home because my husband had mentioned how pretty it was and that his fiance' would love to have something like that. He gave it to my husband in good faith. So, that is my story on the rug!
