Christmas shopping nightmares.

Have you had one? I have. I know with the upcoming shopping frenzy, that it's probably going to happen again! The most recent I had was a few years ago, my ex-husband and I were shopping for a bicycle for my daughter and we found the right bicycle and went to pull it from the rack at Wal-Mart, this guy zipped by and yanked it from the rack as my husband was reaching for it. My husband was so angry! He told the guy if you needed the bicycle so badly that you have to steal it right out from under someone, go right ahead. The guy just looked at him and stood there. My husband said go on and take the bicycle before I do something I am going to regret. They guy left mumbling under his breath, but he knew he was wrong. I am glad my exhusband took care of it because I was about to hit this guy with my purse that's how mad I was! In the end it turned out good because we found a better bicycle for less money. So, do you guys have a nightmarish holiday shopping story?

I usely try to start buying my christmas gift in november or when I do in december it's when there is less person in mall. This year wil be a little bit easier because starting in december I will only work 4h a day (I'M pregnant) so I will be able to do some shopping :) I never had a nightmare story for christmas and I hope it will always be like that :P

That is so annoying isn't it. A couple of years ago I went into the City Centre for some Christmas shopping and joined the crowds in the rush. I had spotted a teddy bear I wanted to get for my little niece and as I reached for it, I found myself on the ground. Someone had literally shoved me out of the way and taken the teddy bear. Once I picked myself up the creep was long gone but I was left with bruises and a bad temper. These days I shop on line, with the advantage of having the goods delivered to the door.

Yes shopping online is a much better alternative to dealing with crazed shoppers lol! I am going to be doing much the same thing for my family. I can't believe someone actually shoved you to the ground for a teddy bear. People have so lost their common courtesy. Thanks for responding.

Well many years ago when I was associating with my younger brother I had one. My younbger brother is totally blind. He is also the last minute shopper type. Well I volunteered one year to take him Christmas shopping. Being blind I described every single item to him. Being a last minute shopper this was done on December 22nd as well. Ugggh. The stores were jam packed. he is a very fusy shopper as well. All the describing and pricing etc drove me up a wall. Never again and I haven't since. I hated it. I hate shopping anytime in December as the stores are jammed. I get most my shopping done by the end of November most yeras. Well it turned out for the best in the long run for you. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh Lord, I think that would drive me up a wall too! I know you were trying to help but jeez! LOL, my brother has full sight, but he is just as bad, he is very indecisive. When we shop together, he will pick something up, then 20 minutes later we will have to go back and put it up because he decided he didn't want it, then 10 minutes later he will go back and pick the item up again, mull it over and then take it and again with the circles around the store lol! I hate shopping with him! So, I know how you feel...

I think my nightmare story is waiting until December to start shopping one year. It was horrible. I learned my lesson. I hate crowds, long lines and no parking. Now, I start my Christmas shopping January 2nd. This year I only have 5 people left to buy for at this time out of 52. I buy the gift, wrap it, label it and stick it in the closet. I keep a list on my computer of what I gave each person. If I happen to find something that I would like to give that person that is different, then I just swap out the gifts. I also buy all my toys for tots toys during the year when I find them on clearance or marked down. I spend my November and December baking, visisting and relaxing.

You are such an inspiration to us! I wish I could be as organized as you. I know I could be, but I just don't apply myself lol! Thanks for the tips though. Those are great!

I used to be like that. i am trying very hard not to be so much on the last minute side. I know how you feel though. You end up wanting to buy more the longer you go with planning ahead. thanks for the response.

I use to be a buyer. So I cant stand the christmas season. Shopping for me is fun but being around all the crazy people is a bit much. This year I am shopping online. I have already started too. I am going at this early. Most of my gifts are coming from the handmade site etsy.com. I am a seller there but I am spending more then I sell oh well. If you want some handmade items go to http://etsy.com.

I can imagine that you hate Christmas! Shopping online sure does get rid of the headache of shopping among the throngs of others doesn't it! I do love to do that! I am going to check this site out for sure! I have a friend who makes lovely crafts and could probably sell her things on there as well. I love hand crafted items so I really would like to check it out for myself! Thanks for the info.

no, this is because i start shopping early! i am about 3/4 of the way down my christmas shopping already. If i see something on sale that i know would be good for a particular person on my list, i generally buy it then and there and if i can get it on sale, even better!

I try to do that myself. This year has been a little harder though because I am not working right now. last year was great because I had a good job and my husband was just coming back from Afghanistan. We had a much easier time with the shopping aspect, this year, I am trying to do what your doing and buying as I go shopping here and there. I only have a little done but it's going along. I think I am going to invest in gift certificates for many of my family this year though, they are getting harder and harder to shop for!
