PayPal Really Disappointed Me

I went to the site to transfer money and the front page was completely different. I am a paranoid person by nature so when I saw this I freaked out. On top of all that, it has "loading from paypalobjects" in the activity bar of the browser. I called the toll free number and had to wait 15 minutes to talk to someone - then I had to give them all my info - just to find out of the site had changed it's design. The person was obviously reading from a script because she couldn't answer anything complex. Why couldn't PayPal have sent out an email to let people know that they were redoing the front page??? I hope everyone that has a PayPal account will contact them or call them to let them know that this isn't cool. They preach abut site security then go and change the main page (not just a few small changes either) and don't let people know. In case you ever need the toll free number for PayPal, here it is: 888-221-1161 I am really disappointed that they dropped the ball on this one.

Well.. every site I visit redoes their pages often so to me it's not a big deal. Annoying, but not a huge deal. For example, I swear everytime I go to pay my Verizon bill, the website is changed. So once a month, they mess with the site. Annoying, yes! I did notice Paypal changed recently. I like the new design :) But if you are super worried about security, you should sign up for the pin # like I did. They send you a little electronic thing, and in order to log in to your account, you have to press the button, get a 6 digit # off of it, and type it in with your password. The 6 digit # changes all the time too so it can't be memorized. It's an extra step that sometimes annoys me but overall makes me feel safer.

There have been a couple of times where I had serious problems with PayPal. Once I was unable to access the account and they wouldn't re-set my password, and another time they pinged my listed credit card, said it wasn't active, and closed my account. It took FOREVER to get it straightened out.

I seriously doubt paypal would ever send out emails when they change the look of their website. That would take way too much of their time. It would take forever. And that might slow down their site. Not sure about that one though. I know when calling paypal it takes forever to get a hold of someone. I dont call them unless i absolutely have to.

LOL yeh it's not healthy to be worried like that. I doubth paypal.com would ever be hijacked. The only way these hijackers could do anything is by, sending you an email saying you need to update your account. I have gotten alot of those latley. I feel sorry for the people who actually beleive that. Well I can't say it wouldn't cross my mind, especially if I had a few thousand bucks in there

I completely agree with you! And that is the reason PayPal never send e-mails to its users. Because of that you had to know that all mails which have PayPal name are SCAM!!!

I actually like the new front page. It looks more cool, or maybe, just great! But you're right that PayPal should have sent an email or posted it on their site. Have a nice day!

I noticed it the other day, but didn't really think anything of it. Sites change their layouts all the time, so for me it was not a big deal as long as it says https in the menu bar and the little secure thing is on the bottom of the page.
