does anybody know about the story of rip van winkle? what happened to him? is this a true story or just a fairy tale?
the only thing i know about him is that he slept for 40 years...

Just like other fairy stories, this is also could be a fiction rather than truth. But i feel that this is an excellent story and enjoyed it very much in my childhood days.
