Local Journalist tells all !

I still don't see why race ever entered it. A group of kids jumped another kid and beat him up. It shouldn't matter what color any of them were. I think it's also terrible that the media can lie and twist the facts to sell more papers. I hope that the town and the ppl there can get back to a normal life. !!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I already knew most of what he said, however, even he isn't telling the whole truth - particularly with myth 7. There are contradictory accounts of who his Justin Barker - and the last time I checked, this still hasn't been resolved. The only adult in attendance said he saw another boy, Malcolm Shaw, hit Justin, not Mychael Bell. No eyewitness named more than 3 attackers, and every account was in conflict with one another. The journalist also claims it's "unclear" why Barker was targeted, but eyewitnesses recall hearing him bragging about how one of the alleged attackers got his "butt kicked" at the Fairbarn fight the Friday before. Hell, he even contradicts himself in the next paragraph. For the most part, though, this journalist has got it right. The media has done quite a bit of spinning on this story.

It is too bad this wasn't written in the midst of the action while Sharpton was once more preaching his racism at the expense of Jena. It would have knocked the wind out of the sails of his overwhelming pomposity. The national media should be taken to task for their laziness and overall inaccuracy of most everything they report, including this Jena incident. They are only after what sells, and that is violence and racism, especially if the law can be shown as slanted against minorities. The best lesson is do your own research before making and judgments on anything the media has to say.

let me just start by saying that I am not an American and I have followed the story from the start and have no reason to be on anyones side. I have watche 2 intervews on tv with many of the people involved and what this article is saying is totaly oposite of what they were saying. They said there was a white only tree (students, teachers, parents) both white and "black". They said that the noose incident was directly involved with the "blacks". So who do we belive the people that did it or the media. And somehow all of the 12 things listed defend the whites.

We need to spread this article to as many people as we can.These 6 young men are being hailed as heroes in the black community because they beat up a white boy.Was it attempted murder?Of course not.It was chickensh@t.Only a real wimp would need the help of 5 others to beat up 1 boy. The biggest problem is the so-called Reverend Al Sharpton.This man is the biggest racist in our country.He sets back everything blacks have fought for 40 yrs.every time he gets involved with anything.
