Sleeping with cats

Bed full of cats - my bed

I think some of you might think I'm joking about how many cats sleep with me. Well, the roomie took this pix this morning of my bed (without me in it.) There are actually 7 cats in that bed. From the head of the bed down is Serena (dark against the purple wall), Solo (brown tabby), Roxy (orange tabby), Scamp (black in the middle), Gabby (tortie just below Scamp), Taj (dilute orange tabby toward the foot) and Rose (Siamese.)

LOL they are gorgeous hun. I guess you need a second bed in there so you get to sleep too. Moomin is upstairs asleep on my bed at the moment, and when he stretches out he can take up half the bed by himself

That looks alot like my bed. My bed is a full sized one, but there's usually 4 or 5 cats, and a Mini Pin/Rat Terrier mix on it. Thank goodness, my chihuahua sleeps on her own bed. Now, if I didn't have my wonderful cat barn, I'd probably have most of them on it, too. lol Your cats are pretty, by the way. The creamy one looks like my Dreamy.

Baby Taj and the big bowl - This was when he was about 6 weeks old, discovering dry food - he perfered to walk thru it rather than eat it!
Which one do you mean by creamy? Taj or Rose?Rose is looking for a home, so is Serena for that matter. Taj is my #1 son. I found him in my front yard at 4 weeks old, just a little guy. He is one of my favorites, and he really is my boy. The others in the house will do, barely. I love him, and he loves me too.

That's Taj. He's a determined little body when he wants something. And if he doesn't get his way, he will nip. But I love him anyway, even if he is a slippery little devil!

I believe it's Taj, the creamy colored one laying near Rose.

And such a small bed too!! Looks like you probably need to find somewhere else to sleep. My cats don't always get along well enough to have that many in the bed at one time. I currently have 14, and I have to lock them out or I'd never get any sleep. Once I find homes and start getting the numbers down, I'll let them back into the bedroom at night. I just can't do it now, I get soar trying to contort myself around all the bodies, as well as trying to turn over without throwing anyone on the floor. For some reason they prefer to sleep ON me rather than just on the bed. Maybe they just like to play King of the Hill or something...

That's one thing I'm strict about. No fighting on the bed! I do allow Scamp to slap the others because he's such a coward that when they get in his face he pops them. They don't really fight & Scamp then tends to run away at that point. The most I've ever known I've had was 11, and yes, I have some that prefer to sleep on top of me. In fact, getting out of bed this evening I had to get out from under Tuti who has quite the technique of staying on top of me, I can roll over & she walks the roll - if she wasn't such a lard butt she could do it as a trick! And last night I had Solo, I've never had Solo sleep on top of me before, but then again, I never had Rose clear the end of the bed before!

You got your own little kitty mattress there, haha!.. How adorable, I wish I could come over and just hug them all! Love all their names too! I only have my one kitty left and of course, she too, sleeps with me....keeps me nice and warm in the winter, lol!

Well, sadly, your a little far to come over & hug a few, tho some would really like it. Take Rose for example. The roomie was in the tub this morning & Rose wanted to be loved so much she climbed right on top of her! Of course, that part of the roomie wasn't underwater, probably wasn't even that close to the water, but still, in the tub!

I don't think she'd've appreciated her boobs on the internet! But I didn't get up to see it either, by the time I was up, the roomie was about out of the tub.

I let my cat sleep with me on my bed but not during her mating season though because she doesn't stop mewing and scratching lol. But I doesn't let her sleep in my room often since she always love to trash my room into a pile of mess lol.

If you get her spayed, she'll be a much nicer pet. And you can avoid all kinds of later health problems that unspayed females have - besides kittens.

been planning to do that but I just don't have the time to do so.

I only have two cats that sometimes sleep with me. But, sometimes I have to shut them out of the bedroom. Joe is a good boy. He will lay down and sleep by me with no problems. He could sleep with me all the time if he wanted. Russell is the troublemaker though. He is hyperactive and extremely curious. This gets him in trouble when he is SUPPOSED to be sleeping with me. He keeps waking up; moving around; and kneading me so HE can be more comfortable. He also pounces on top of Joe, who is trying to sleep, and then the bed really gets "active". So, if he is too hyper before bedtime, I have to shut them both out for the night or I don't get any sleep.

young Rygel - this is one of his younger shots
Rygel would be that way, but he learned that if he caused problems in my bed, he got thrown out and the others still slept with me. So, he's pretty good about it now. I actually think he got most of the message the day we took a nap together when he was about 6 weeks old & he woke up and bit me! I put him out of the bed & gave him his "handle" at the same time - "The Cat who will eat us in our sleep."

At least mine don't bite me when I an sleeping. But, tossing out one and letting the other one stay is not REALLY an option; unless, I want to be awakened throughout the night whenever Joe wants out for a drink, litter box, etc. Plus, it is really hard to try to sleep when one of them is outside the door crying. (If they are both out, they don't complain; but, if they think the other one is getting extra attention, treats, etc., they let the whole house know about it.)

You most not have a lot of place to sleep. Only one of my 3 cats, sometimes 2 come sleeping with me. And sometimes I think he takes all the place in my bed lol. He need to sleep as close as possible of me and even sometimes in my arms. Somtimes I'M squeeze between him and my boyfriends lol I will never be able to sleep with more then 2 cats in my bed.

LOL We have one, Morgana. She nips at my feet when she is ready to go to bed either at night or for a nap. In the morning, when she is ready for me to get up she will stick her head under the covers and bite my feet to wake me up. Since it's started getting chillier now she is taking to sleeping on top of the covers between my knees. She doesn't like for me to move around though. !!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Because of the roomie's diabeties, we have actively discouraged any toe nipping. We only have a couple that can stand being under the covers and they have learned that attacking feet get them kicked off the bed. But most of them know if we are asleep, then they'd better be planning on letting us sleep. The roomie used to teach her cats how to fly when they tried to wake her up - I'm not that strong, but I'll shove them out of bed.

I am diabetic too but I don't think that matters to her LOL She doesn't bite hard enough to really break the skin just enough to make me pay attention. I could never throw a cat though I'm way too much of an animal lover. I'm glad your kitties have a nice comfy place to sleep. !!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Yeesh, I sometimes have a problem waking up to find that just my one cat is sleeping on my head. I can't imagine six others trying to find a place on top of me to sleep as well.

Happily, the only "on top of me" that they want to be is on top of my torso. The rest settle for next to me, I have a few leaners, but most just cuddle up next to me. I had this one leaner that got between my legs and I would wake up all contorted against the head of the bed. But that was 30ish yrs ago, and he wasn't a young cat then.

Oh my what a familiar scene from my past when I used to have a lot of kitties on my bed too...and just like you my bed is a twin sized bed as well...Even though I only have my two kitties, they take up most of the room on my bed now too, while I'm scrunched on the end..one of these days, I swear I'm going to fall out of bed.

Sometimes it seems that the fewer cats you have, the more they try and push you out of bed! When you have a bunch, they are pushing from all sides and keep you in! But I have to say, as big as I am, I used to only lay on half of the bed with my arms streached out. Now I'm more determined to take my half out of the middle and let them lay on BOTH sides of me! LOL

That is a lot of cats in one place! I bet it's nice when it's cold outside. I wouldn't want to get out of bed in the morning. ;) My old cat used to like to sleep with me at night, except she had the unfortunate habit of trying to sleep on my face. I'd usually have to move her three or four times a night. LOL. Still, a cat is the best heater you can have, in my opinion.

Well, their normal body temp is 100 to 101 so they can be really good warmers. Ping and Pong are the worst about getting in the face. I called Ping "Nose-breaker" cause he'd head butt my nose and Pong "Face-layer" because he'd crowd in and actually lay on my face. He stopped that before he was a year old, but Ping has only just learned to head butt my nose more gently at 3.

No, infact, the ones in the picture on my bed are some of the ones that don't get along with many others. I wish you could see how big Booboo is, he's huge, but he knows to let me have the bed & only sleeps at the foot.

LOL No, I just move them until I'm on the bottom! Then they have to sort themselves out on top/around me. The only reason they have the whole bed is because I'm not in it at the moment!

My 6 cats don't usually with me, because I tend to toss and turn. But, they do sleep with my mom, because she just lays there when she sleeps. Plus, they just love to get under the blanket with her. :)

My cats love to sleep in our bed. We usually have three in the bed with us each night. One of them only gets on the bed when nobody else is there. She will burrow under the blankets.

My mother called it "mole-ing" when her cats did it. I can remember looking in at their bed & there'd be 2 lumps in it from the cats crawling up under the covers to sleep.

I know how much you like cats,so i see nothing wrong with you sleeping with them.If they do not have any fleas, and they are clean which im sure they are then i see no problem.i love sleeping with my cat,we get all snuggled up in bed and go to sleep togeather, and in comes my hubby and makes the cat go to the recliner in the living room...

I have had cats for over 30 yrs and gotten a countable number of scratchs on my face, and the only ones from being in bed is when one falls off the bookcase next to the bed
