Do you know the weather of Norfolk?

Next month,I will have a chance to visit Norfolk,studying in the Old Dominion University.I know the city is in the northeast of USA,near Washionton.Some friends told me that it is very cold in winter there.Who can tell the weather of Norfolk?Whether do I take many winter colthes?
