Ok so tonight I went and saw the newer version of Hair spray, and I must admit I like it. I've seen both the original movie and the play. The movie in itself was funny but the message behind it still holds value today. For those who haven't seen it or don't know what it is about, the true message of the movie is love and accaptance. As much as people would love to believe that we don't have a racial divide in this country still we do. Now days the biggest stigma is being homosexual. Like with anything different this country has shown to be extremely intolerant and un-accepting. Sadly that needs to change. As a society we need to learn to live together and love each other if we ever expect to get anywhere. There is so much hate and animosity in this country it makes me sad to call myself American. How is it a country founded so that it can be a place of diversity and acceptance has turned into one that hates all things different? Anyway thats my rant/speech.
