Blind man shoots home invader!

This is the coolest little article. A 75 year old man, retired, and legally blind, had someone knock on his door at 3 a.m. asking to be let in. When the man said no, the intruder tried to force his way into the house. The blind man fired at the intruder and wounded him. Police praised the man for being able to defend himself! The intruder was sent to the hospital and charges were made against him for "burglary of an occupied residence and battery on a person over the age of 65." Here is the link. go on the little guy! great story and glad to see the police saw sense. pretty sure in Scotland they would of charged the blind man!

Now that is an awesome story! I think that is just fantastic that he could defend himself from harm as he did. It just shows you that you can overcome your disabilities in these types of situations. Thanks for posting that1

i think this is awesome that the 75 year old man could take such good care of himself.The burgler got just what he deserved,bet he will think twice before he starts breaking in on people anymore.

hmmmmmmmm...wonder if the intruder learned a valuable lesson. Never underestimate a blind person. lol They can pinpoint where someone is just by their other senses.

Hi estherlou! That is very brave for the blind man to do. I guess, that intruder thought he can just do anything he wants with someone who is blind. Good for him, may he spend a long time in jail so he wouldn't be a threat anymore. Take care and have a nice day.

LOL Good!! The dirt bag got just what he deserved and it's about time the law is on OUR side! I've seen too many times where the criminal has more rights than the victim which isn't right but that's the way the law goes. Thanks for sharing the story!

I agree and this isn't far from me at all. I am glad he was albe to defend his self also. Looks like a man that can take care of his self.

Good for him!!! I think all of us should be able to defend our homes...without the whole thing being turned around on the home owner. Sometimes they charge the homeowner if an intruder get hurt! I am sure they could see this was self defense though!
