What do you do, when you're stuck without a television to watch?

Most days I don't watch TV. Not because I have anything against television, but more so because I prefer to work online. But sometimes, I really like watching my home decorating shows. And, usually about that time, my spouse decides to watch Ultimate Fighting Championships on TV and so once again, I'm stuck without any TV to watch. Most times when that happens, I try to tape my programs to view later. Or, just watch a DVD on the second television. Sometimes, I just give up and go back to work online. Or, take a nap. There's always something to do around our house. So, what do you do, when you don't have a television to watch, because your spouse or kids are using it?

Gee where have you been stranger? As for your topic I'll either write stuff online, work on my writings, work on my RPG, go out and walk/jog/exercise, watch a DVD, play some games or look at other programming online. There's a lot to choose from.

Here and there and everywhere! Really though, just been taking a tiny break from My Lot to work on other paying stuff. I posted a little bit last Monday (took two hours) and only got 42 cents, so I left again for better paying waters. For some reason, I keep coming back. I think it's the lure of possible money, no matter how small. And, I miss chatting with everyone on My Lot. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah, TV vs. Internet debate. I am so jealous that you know RPG and all that computer programming stuff. Java script is as daring as I get when it comes to programming. I'm in desperate need of a pop-under script code that can't be blocked. All the ones I've found are easily blocked by Mozilla. I'm trying to put one on my site. Know where I might find one?

Watch movies. I'm a big movie nerd and I have a rather large collection of dvd's. I love watching the extra stuff, the making of and what not. I like to watch movies with the commentary and I can watch the same movie over and over and over again. So, that's what I do. I have satellite so if the weather is really bad and the tv goes out, which doesn't happen often, I have a back up of cable, but I'll usually just find a movie to watch and watch that instead. My TV is always on.

I live in a garage... and my landlord is a big sports junkie. so my utlities and stuff are all included in the rent and he has direct tv, so I do also. But he also has basic cable, just in case the direct tv goes out when a game is on.

Hi Raychill, I love watching the commentary too. I thought I was the only one. My kid hates it when I put on the commentary. She doesn't understand why someone is talking over her movie. But, it just extends the movie viewing experience for me. (PS Kudos on the free DirecTV!)

Totally! The commentary is the best. You find out all sorts of interesting factoids you never would have known before and I like that a lot. There's time to watch the movie and THEN the commentary!

It never happens that I don't get a tv to watch, as I have a satellite connection which never goes out.. But whenever I am not in the mood to watch tv, I spend my time on the computer, surfing the net or chatting with my friends... Other than that, I just listen to music on my stereo...

To be honest, I don't watch television very often, I prefer to read or listen to music these days. I do like things like CSI and some of the classic comedy and if I really want to watch I can always go online or play a movie

I am not a television dependent. I can make my day, weeks and months past without watching a television. I prefer to work online than to watch a television. But there are times when I watch shows for a simple enjoyment, and thats it, after that I could go with my work again. And one thing more, there are times when I just download movies to watch.

If I'm stuck without a television - which to be honest is not my first choice - I just do something else. THere are plenty of choices from reading or writing, coming to the computer, go for a walk.. it doesn't bother me much most of the time and only a bit if one of the shows I enjoy is on :)

If I dont have the tv to watch I go and play games in the computer, play the solitaire inside my room, read past date newspapers, read nice books, readers digest that was issued last last months and read something special for the day. Right now I am eager to go home every day as i am watching a telenovela at 9:00 pm. I really have to go home and be there before 9:00 pm. I should not be viewing that, because the setting and the story is so light and yet I like to watch it.

Luckily we share the tv around here. We only have one. However when he is watching the programs that I dont watch, I find something to do like laundry, dishes, working online and whatever else that strikes me as something to do at that moment. There is always something to do around here.

it's no problem for me should i have no television to watch. there are a lot of things for me to do. I like to read books. I have a couple of pocket books here waiting to be read. Then there's the house that needs to be cleaned. I am obsessed with making the house tidy and organized there's something to do from time to time. I also have several flower pots and orchids in my veranda that needs attention. and there's the phone, i have many friends to call and exchange stories with. The list can go on and on.

I go online to find something to do like mylot or gather. Or I read or play on my ps 2. I think it doesn't bother me because I have been without television at all before.

I will work on my cross stitch or read a book. I don't really watch that much TV. I usually do my TV watching during specific hours on certain days. For instance on Mondays I only watch from 9pm until 12am. Tuesdays I only watch from 7pm-9pm. Wednesdays have a set time as do Thursday and Friday. Weekends I almost never watch TV so it is very rare that someone else is using it, but when it happens I have other projects to work on. Right now, if I couldn't watch TV I would work on my Christmas crafts.

I prefer internet than TV. Because I can communicate with other people on net such as mylot. But when I am watching TV, I feel lonely although there are many programs.

I try and record on tivo or dvr, the shows that I miss because the tv is taken. I will catch up on housework, read, write, or spend more time online. I hardly ever get to watch tv anymore because of my schedule. I don't really miss it that much either.
