Why do men want to dominate women?

Both men and women are educated and independent. Men are trying to acknowledge women’s power and importance, while women are also recognized their own strength and rights. Men may pretend they do not dominate, but they do carry a big ego. Why? Though they are not genetically programmed to dominate, but has been nurtured to do so. I think ego combined with their muscle power makes them dominate!
