Counting this post I have 2068 posts and 655 best responses. That gives me a ratio of about .317. I used to keep track of it but hadn't checked in a long time. I'm glad you asked though because it's a lot higher than it had been. Last I checked I was only averaging one best response for every ten posts, I guess practice really does make perfect.

Yes, it turns out my count of BR's was too high too. See post #3 for a way to get a more accurate count of your BR's.

HMM....I'll have to recheck it then. I guess you caught me not reading all the responses before I answered! Actually when I first saw the discussion you only had two responses, I tried answering it then but things came up and I left before finishing it. I finally came back and just jumped right into responding without reading if anything new had been written. I'll go check to see what my real number is and get back to you.

Geez I wish I hadn't checked! I only came up with 215 best responses doing it that way!

How did you count your best responses...and what can't you keep a star rating? I don't understand that.

Poster #3 points out there is a flaw in the myLot system for counting best responses. See post #3 for the details of that.

Well I just counted I have 44 pages and 2 left over of best responses, so I guess that would be 440 since there are 10 on a page +2
I guess this is 442/ 3642 so I guess that would be about 12%.
Sound right to you..or is there a better way?

I have 223 best responses so far (and I must say that I don't see a sudden increase, as most of the members from myLot don't mark best responses anymore) and I have responded 3085 discussions so far (including this one). So my BR/PS ratio will be 0.07228

Thanks. I can't keep a star rating so I was trying to find out if my number of best responses was low in comparison to others. This ratio is the best measure I could come up with as to how the quality of ones responses is judged by others.

I think this ratio can be a good statistic parameter. Nevertheless, we must keep in mind that we can respond discussions created by users that are no longer active or by users that have already marked a best response. For the latter, I think the star rating is a better parameter, if the "+" ratings are taken into account when calculating the star rating (I'm not really sure how they come up with it).

With 318 Best Responses, you should get a higher ranking than 1. I have fewer Best Responses than yours, though. I ever mentioned on one of myLot's discussions that myLot ranking star is not objective.

I figured out some time ago that BR's have nothing to do with your star rating. I did a lot of comparing people with 10's to others with lesser star #'s on number of BR's that each had. There is no connection.
Also, it turns out I had no where near as many BR's as I thought. There is flaw in the myLot BR system. Poster #3 explains this in detail.

I have 279 best responses out of 2330 posts, which seems to be about .1197.
I could not believe I had that many pages of them.

Yes, see post #3 for an explanation of how the number of best responses can be miscounted. I do not have as many br as I thought.

With a current posting score of 4550, my best response total is over 700.
Which makes a grand total of 15% BR rating... how depressing.
Then there are good responses I've done that didn't get BR, or others where the discussion starter never came back to give BR. Sigh...

Well sorry, I do appreciate the BRs but I know I have a several more out there that could be or should be.
