Do you believe that a dogs breed determines if they are dangerous?

For years I had the misconception that a dog was dangerous just because of their breed. My mind was finally changed though when I met my now fiance. He had a pit bull, named Thor when we met. I was scared to death of this dog. I wouldn't even go in the house until the dog was locked up, because i thought the dog would attack me. Wow, was i wrong. My fiance has raised Thor since he was born. (literally) Thor has not once attacked, bitten, rough housed, or anything to anyone. He is a calm dog, who is great with kids. My neice, 2, can pull his tale, ears, ride one him, anything without a flinch. We recently just got a new puppy, Dozer, who is rottweiler/lab. Anytime someone asks about my dogs and i tell them the breeds they ask if i'm crazy for having to dangerous dogs. I just laugh and tell them its not the breed of the dog...it's the person who is raising the dog that makes them dangerous.

Your right, its how the dogs are raised...I have Dobermans and have for many years..They are the gentlest affectionate creatures. Unfortuntely many breeds get 'tagged' as dangerous, its not fair for the dogs and in your case instills fears into people..
