Bitter taste

In general knowledge; Basically the upper part of tongue draws the function as taste buds. And there are five basic tastes; b-3s-u 1. bitter, 2. salty, 3. sour, 4. sweet, and 5. umami (described as savoury, meaty, or brothy) And taste also connected to brain, so on having fever bitter taste will be intensified to easily detect any poisoning food intake. That was why in my childhood life, my mom asked me to take bitter food while I was on fever. She said to make me having rapid remedial effect from my fever. But she don't know how to provide me any scientific reason for that such action taken. Have you checked your tonsils. I had my tonsils removed when I was about 5 so imagine my suprised when at 14 I had a major tonsil infection everything I ate was so bitter that I stoped eating or drinking. What saved me was we went to my aunts place and she made a saled of boiled eggs and potato and she choped them to 5mm peaces and put on a bit of vinigar, salt, oil and I think a bit of black pepper. Thats what I ate for the rest of my illness (and it was almost 2 weeks). I had a similar thing last year when I had a look it looked like I have grown new set of tonsils and not only were they red but had like white lines or mesh over it the doctor that saw me nearly fell of her chair when I told her I had no tonsils.
