I love it! Yesterday we went to have afternoon lunch at a Japanese Restaurant called Sakura, to celebrate my husbands promotion and to taste Japanese Hibachi Cooking for the first time. Wow, is all I can say - to have your food cooked/grilled right there in front of you while the chef does his fancy twirls with the knives, makes jokes and keeps you entertained was very interesting and mouth watering LOL My son loved it and aaaahed and ooohed everytime he saw fire:)
I had shrimp, steak and chicken with veges, fried rice and sauteed mushrooms. It was absolutely yummy and had to take home a doggy bag. Next time, whenever that is, I am going to try the salmon.
Have you ever tried Japanese Hibachi Cooking? What did you like about it? Please Share!

You ate what? Where? Twirling knives? Fire? Icky mushrooms. Sounds like you had a wonderful day. I tried Thai food once and decided to stick to Chinese. I am not much of a foreign food eater, but somehow this post has made me hungry. I also hate seafood.
Tell your husband I said Yipeeeee, Congratulations on his promotion. Now you can really have that baby girl.

hahah my husband doesn't eat seafood either - apparently its not good for gout also.
As for the baby girl, I'm slowly losing interest as I don't want to put on all the weight I have recently lost and still trying to lose. I just think after three years of trying its just not meant to be!

Of course I enjoy hibachi cooking. The steak is pretty good, along with a lot of other dishes, especially the seafood one. I'm gonna have to get me some octopi soon enough thanks to you bringing up the topic. I just had some eel to snack on though so I guess its all good for now. And yes Maddy, the salmon dishes are delicious.

Good on you for eating octopi - its been years since I tasted that and I still don't like it LOL
As for eel, my dad would go eeling years ago and bring back lots to cook and fry up - very tasty indeed.

I went to a place like that in Kuala Lumpur once, small place - japanese food was that big a thing in malasyai - the food was good though, not great but it was sort of a bad place to eat I think. At least it was cheap.

Well this place was in Virginia and the food tasted great and it was reasonably priced too. Thanks for your response Phlamingho!

I love restaurants like that. Those chefs can really put on a good show! The food is amazing too. I don't even eat a lot of Oriental cooking, but I can put away some food from those restaurants. We have one called Kobes and another called Makatos.

It was our first time there and the chef was great! Next time we have visitors to DC we will be sure to take them there!
