How much do you tip?

When eating in a restaurant, how do you decide how much to tip a waitress? For me, the waitress has to do something really terrible for me to not tip her altogether. I dont usually sit there and calculate the exact 15% but I do make sure that its a decent tip. Ive waitressed before and I can remember a time that a whole group of people took up my entire section and left me NOTHING simply because they couldnt sit in another waitresses section because it was full.

My tip is completely decided by the service. There have been times when the waitress acted like we were an inconvenience or simply forgot about us & I left her nothing. There have been others that did such a good job & were so pleasant that I tipped even more than the price of the meal. I guess 10-15% is about my average.

In our country, most of the time we don't need to tip the waitress when we eating in a restaurant.it is free.all the waitress have the basic wage, the can't accept the tip.but if i am in your country.may be i tip them according to their service.

Hi ayshren,i usually tip $1.00-$2.00 on a $10.00-$15.00 meal.If it cost $20.00 i give $2.50 for a tip if its eatin, but not for take out becasue there is no waitressing involved and easy work. Peanutjar:)
