I used to wear contacts but they're just too much of a hassle. Their are new - oxygenated ones - not quite sure how they made them differently. I'm interested in trying them - just to have them around to use ocassionally. What about you - do you wear contacts - what about coloured contacts?

Hello Art, I have contacts, but I dont wear them too much. I do if Im doing something active where my eye glasses would get in the way. I have an astigmatism in one of my eyes, and I went through many contacts trying to find one to fit that one messed up pupil. Well they started making the ones for an astigmatism but they still get really dry and Im not good with putting a drop in my eye, I end up soaked! lol The stuff running down my face. So for me, its just easier to put on my glasses. Luckily for me Im not that blind, so when I dont have them on its just a bit blurry not that I cant make things out at all. I feel sorry for you not being able to see at all!! Im praying that I have taken good care of my eyes, keeping my prescription up dated and that I wont get that bad. I dont know though, my mom had bi-focals!!! So there is a chance I guess! Bay Lay Gray xx

Well thats good that its not that bad then! I have a friend, Toni_07, she cant see, I think she is legally blind without her lenses. She wears contacts, and always has. I can never remember if Im farsighed or nearsighted. LOL I can only see close up, so Im thinking they call that nearsighted. It seems it was always opposite, or thats what I was thinking anyway. But my mom always told me to get back from the TV I always sat so close. About 9 years ago, I didnt wear any lenses, I was at K-Mart trying on a pair of sunglasses and the tag that was attatched to the nose part slipped up under my cheek and cut my cornea 3 layers deep. OOOOH I was in such pain! My whole eye filled with blood and I had to see an eye doctore for like 3 weeks to monitor and keep medicine in it. They were scaring me, the Dr kept calling people in the room to "look at this" they had never seen anyone do this to their eye. LOL Ever since then I have had to have eye glasses, because that is the eye with the dip or astigmatism in it. I wish I would have been wiser then, I would have sued somebody!! Bay xx

Is there a cut off date if you're still affected by it?

Hmm, I dont know. I never really thought about it. I wasnt thinking of that at the time, I was in a LOT of pain for about a week and a half. And then after that I dont know why I didnt pursue it, I guess cos I felt fine once it healed. I dont think I could really sue if I wasnt all that hurt. LOL Honest Abe here!!

Sorry dear, I do not wear contact lenses, so will not be able to contribute much on this. I think, it is not easy to maintain and keep contacts lenses, one requires lots and lots of precautions to keep it safe.

Very true, it does take a lot to have contacts. For many its worth it though.

I wear disposable contacts that are clear not colored. My husband has tried those new oxygenated ones and loves them. I have been wearing contacts for several years and wouldn't give them up. I hate wearing my glasses.

Nope, I don't wear contact lenses. Only sun glasses when i go out to protect my eyes from the heat of the sun and air pollution. But I am fascinated of trying to wear coloured contact lenses for the fashion sake. lol I want to change the color of my eyes into blue.

My eyes are hazel which means their dark olive green with a little orange and such. So I've worn contacts that enhance the greem. What I think is funny is that some people without a prescription will wear glasses because they look more intelligent or something.
