My little city has quite a few parades and we have a couple of them coming up within the next two months. Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and there is a huge parade that goes right in front of my house and I love it! It goes all the way to a huge cemetary we have here and they make a big to do at the vetrans burial ground. The other huge parade is our Christmas parade that also goes right by my house and it's awesome. I think every truck in the city is in it and everyone decorates them with lights, christmas music and those animated Christmas figures. They have it at night which makes it even better. Do you ever go to parades? Does your city or town have them for special occasions?

We live in a really really small town called Ruffin. I'm surprised that it's even on the map! lol However we have one parade a year and yes I go to it for it's really cute and then there's a small carnival. The celebration is called "Whistle Stop Jubilee" and it celebrates the old train station that used to be in that area. The building was just torn down this year because it was starting to lean a bit too far. Anyway, this town had a saloon, resturant/hotel and of course the train station. And it's still the same way as far as size. Now it has a post office, bank, two country stores and a grill. Still rinky dink small town. lol

I live here in the philippines and since this country is compose of numerous islands, each place has its own celebrations and we often call it "FIESTA" or "FESTIVAL". My place specifically is located in the southern portion of the country and we have two major celebrations in a year. The first is our "ARAW NG DABAW", this is actually a celebration of how the city was established. During that time we have different parade on the streets and a lot of groups are really participating. The second celebration we have is the "KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL" and i can say that this is the biggest we have in the place since we celebrate it for a month. The last few days of the celebration is really fun because we have also floral parade and as well a parade where groups perform different dances of the different tribes we have here. The celebration is to give thanks and praise to God for the bountiful harvest the place have and i think its just appropriate because we have a lot of fruits and vegetables here all year round.

We do have parades here. We call it fiesta. We celebrate the Saint in our city. We have different parades here. We also have parade for the Nazarene. I cannot remember the other parades. I don't join the parades. I just watch them. I enjoy it more when I watch the parade rather than joioning because I cannot see all of the floats.

They have lots of parades in our city throughout the year - I just have to make sure I remember them as sometimes i forget and we miss out on them, like the halloween one that was on last week. Just as well because I wasn't all too well so I didn't mind missing out. We might go to a Christmas one this year.

I'm very lucky because if I forget the day of the parade I will see people starting to gather in the commons across the street and the street vendors going by with their balloons and stuff. THEN I will remember!

I just love parades, ctry. It has been a while since I've actually seen one though. They used to pass by my house often when I lived on one of the main streets in our city and I could step out my front door and watch. We have several each year, but the highlight is the Christmas Parade which takes place in the downtown area. I have never gone but I usually watch it on TV.

Yes, we have our flower festival parade. I also look forward to it. Creativity is enhanced on different flower designs.
