Practically speaking, it is incorrect to call it, "All Saints Day" because the right words are "Holy Day of Obligation #10". There are ten universal holy days of obligation and All Saints is the last in the liturgical calendar, but for various reasons there are only a few that require you get up early, skip lunch, or stay up late on a weekday. When was the last time you were obliged to celebrate the Church's own version of President's Day in commemoration of Sts. Peter and Paul on June 29th? In fact, for the 2007 Calendar year there are only 4 HDOs (or is it HDOs we take not of. One celebrates the birth of our Lord, two are for Our lady, and the holy things, and the died in an exceptionally holy state. Now, if you would ever like to be remembered on an HDO, All saints day is the only holy day I'm aware of that is still accepting new members.. hehe. So, would you like to be remembered in All Saints Day?

I don't know....would you? lol Thanks for the interesting info on holy day of obligations...more things I should probably know about but don't!! Where did you learn all this stuff about HDOs! You know I would have thought there would be a lot more of those!! I am surprised there are only 4...I mean, are there really only 4? I thought the Sabbath...as in whatever day we call our Sabbath every week...would be an HDO? I don't really know though...just thinking out loud! lol
