The tree was throwing leaves at me!

I spent the morning raking leaves this morning. It took me quite a while to get it done, since there was quite a carpet of them on my lawn. Things went pretty easy while I was raking outside the front fence. But when I got to the yard inside the fence, a breeze started picking up. And I swear that tree was throwing its' leaves AT me! Every time I turned around a leaf or two was falling into my hair! I think I had more in my hair than what was falling on the grass. LOL Oh well, at least I got that task done...until tomorrow morning anyway. Have a great day everyone. Hugs!

I used a blower to blow all the leaves off my drive and walkways this afternoon. This weekend is when I'll be raking some of the leaves in the yard to pile onto my perennials for the winter. It was breezy here as well. Long as I had the blower going with the wind, I was fine but soon as I turned to blow against the wind, it was raining leaves. lol

I use my leaf blower piling them against my house then pick them up after saving some as a mulch for the flower beds around my yard. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I only wish I could use the leaf blower. But it decided to kick the bucket the third time hubby used it, and it hasn't been repaired since then. So my trusty rake will have to do.

Honest to pete, woman, pull yourself together...Now, make sure you bag those leaves and put them snuggly around our pod for the winter is coming and we need all the insulation we can get...LOL...We rake ours to the curb and the big truck with a huge vacuum comes by and sucks them all up...Pretty cool...

Our guys around here don't like it when there are piles of leaves at the curb, and they won't pick them up even with the street sweeper. The BUMS! I'll make sure I save the batch that I'm raking up in the morning so it can keep the pod warm. LOL

Oh, the same thing was happening to me, but I wasn't raking the leaves. Every time today when I walked my dog around the back of my apartment complex, the leaves made a beeline for my hair. My dog thought it was really fun and started chasing each one that fell from the tree tops. The trees in the back are really big and really tall, so it was like a rain shower of leaves! : )

Oh how funny! I bet your dog was absolutely no help in dodging the leaves. We have almond trees in our back yard that hang over from the neighbor's yard, but I don't dare walk under them when the breeze is blowing. They are so old that not only do leaves come down, but so do BRANCHES! LOL

LOL That's funny Katlady2. I've had that happen to me too when we lived in Arkansas. I'd be raking leaves and the tree would keep on dropping more on me or the wind would throw them in a different direction and I'd try to keep up but it was difficult. But one has to laugh for it's easier to do that than to get upset, right? lol

That is so right hon. Might as well enjoy the experience. That way the blood pressure doesn't rise....just the leaves into the air. Hahahahaha

Hey--- I'm tired just hearing about it! I used to do the raking, and I'd wait until they'd all fallen. Hun doesn't like the mess, so he rakes every two or three days. I have guaranteed to him that those other leaves WILL fall... don't think he believes me!LOL! Go rest up... I'm doing the same...WHEW!!!

I've just now finally recovered from the last 'rake aerobics', but the lawn is covered again, so I guess it's time for my exercise routine again. LOL!

While I was waiting in the exam room at the Dr today, from the third floor window I could see maple leaves falling onto the lower branches. Since it was breezy, they would only pile up so far, then the whole stack would drop to the ground! I used the front door so I wouldn't be 'bombed'!lol!

Hi Katlady, I had the same experience just a few days ago. I was raking up leaves in the yard, and I moved along at a fair pace, when I looked back there were lots of leaves where I had just finished raking. So then I raked those leaves up and it seemed like that tree was actually throwing the leaves at me. I started laughing and my husband came out to see what was going on. He started laughing as well. He told me the tree was telling me that it was not done dropping leaves and that I should stand there until it was done. Needless to say that tree is still not done. Almost though!! I'll have to try again tomorrow and see if I can complete my job... Happy posting..

I think my neighbors thought I had lost my marbles as I was raking because I kept cussing out the tree! LOL! Starting over again in the morning, so we'll see if I have to make up some new cuss words to keep them entertained.

My trees have run out of aMMO TO THROW AT ME. i TOOK ALL THEIR AMMO THROWING IT OUT IN HUGE PLASTIC BAGS. bUT...... Now the neighbors trees on both sides of me are starting to have their trees throw their ammo into my yard. Grrrr! HAHAHAHA! More raking to do. Should I bag the leaves leaving them in the neighbors yards as it's their trees? HAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Sounds like your trees are sending their friends after you! LOL! Hmmmmm...I wonder what your neighbors would do if you left the bags of their leaves in their yards. That would be pretty funny to watch I think.

Ya....I'm sure you would have! LOL! I have to admit that I was laughing a lot myself as it was happening. What do you want to bet it happens again in the morning when I start in again with the rake? This time, I'm charging admission! LOL!
