When I was a boy in school I was taught that the United States was run by the people and for the people. It seems that now it is run by politicians for politicians. Does anyone have any comments on this?

NO I BELIEVE THE POLITICIANS PLAY WIHT THE PEOPLES INTERESTS A POLITICIAN IS THE ONE WHO SHAKES HAND U BEFORE THE ELECTION AND SHAKES HAND UR CONFIDENCE AFTER THE ELECTION SO they just play people for their own interests not for the betterment of th people but for the survial of the seat and to safe guard their interests.
