No one came round to do trick or treating either. So gee, I'm stuck with a lot of candy too...gee, think I need to force myself to eat it...especially my favorite, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup...I'd invite you over, but I think I want to hog them all down myself. LOL. What candy do you have??

We haven't been getting many for years. I have given up buying candy. We have a trick or treat at the campground right before the season closes and I save some of that until halloween, just in case. I don't need lots more laying around for the kids to get into.

We only had three knocks on the door last night, so we also have a few spare treats lying around :-)

Hi TerryZ! Oh, I would love those candies of yours if you would still want to give them away. haha.. In our country, we really didn't have that kind of tradition although some malls and few villages or subdivisions try to practice it but still it is not really that popular or common here in our country. But I would surely love and enjoy that. Take care and have a nice day.

Sorry you didn't get any trick or treaters last night. Now watch next year you won't buy candy and there will be kids all over the place.
We don't get trick or treaters here. We live in the country on a county road with only 5 other houses. And there is only one other kid living on our road. He is like 16. So, I didn't buy any. We went to the next town to go trick or treating. There were LOTS of houses with no lights on, but my son still managed to get 183 pieces of candy and a bunch of other stuff in under an hour.

i'm sorry to hear that no kids show up in your house and now you have to eat all the candies by yourself... anyway, at least you learn some lessons from this year and you won't stock so many candies anymore next year... it is so sad that nowadays kids are not allowed to behave like kids anymore due to security reasons...

we didnt get any either. there are no street lights on our street so the few kids that do (some years) stop by, live on this street. but his year not a single kid was to be seen. which left me with a small bucket of candy. not to mention the roughly 2lbs of candy that the kid came home with lol!
we will probably still have halloween candy left-over come Fourth of July! course it might be pretty yucky by then LOL!

I'll come by soon to pick some up LOL
We don't get any knocking at our apartment door either probably because you need a security card to get in. We ended up taking our son out for the first time and HE LOVED IT - him and his friend Ashley. They managed to fill up both their pumpkin buckets to the top :) we have such much candy here too LOL

We only got 22 kids and I can remember getting well over 100. In most places now they have a spookarama set up. The kids all gather there and they have treats and different interesting things to do. It's for all ages and it keeps the little kids busy and keeps the biggar ones off the street. Have a Great Day.

Years ago we took our foster kids trick or treating and we stopped by a friends house that was a little off the beaten track...they had bought a huge bucket of the big candy bars and not one kid showed up. They ended up giving 3-4 to each of the 8 kids we had with us. Talk about sugar rushes!!

Hi Terry,
You have extra? Oh boy! *holds out hand, gives her puppy dog eyes, and whispers "trick or treat"* LoL. My hubby and I honestly didn't buy any candy this year because we knew we weren't going to be home until later. We took our daughter out trick or treating for the first time, took her to see some friends, and by the time we got home it was after 9 and no kids were out anymore.
Love & Hugzz, PurpleTeddyBear.

So sorry that you didn't have any kids stop by. If we lived near you. I would have gladly brought my kids by your house. My kids ended up with tons of candy. Especially chocolate! I always keep candy in my house, so when we got back home I got it out and did have one group of about 5 kids stop by. But that was all I had.

My girlfriend would agree with you. She said she bought 100 dollars worth of candy and her and her husband dressed up and they said they had not one kid at their door so my kids each got a bag of candy from them.

We had the usual one hundred to two hundred. We have a lot of families in our neighborhood, but there were not so many little ones. Our neighborhood is getting older. I was out for the evening at choir practice, but my husband was home giving out candies. But he bought way too many and he did not buy any licorace or anything with dark chocolate.
I know, being a Calvinist, and we calling Halloween, Reformation Day, we do not go trick and treating or let our kids go. My husband is not, which is why the kids come to our door, but I cannot understand why unless there was a lot of trouble last year, too much snow on the ground, or they had a party at the school.
I am sorry we cannot come and eat your candy, but we are still paying for our trip and we have to fix up the basement.

I didn't have any kids come by either, but I didn't expect any. I didn't even have any candy. I live in an apartment complex, and there are many kids, but I live on the bottom level, which is downstairs fromt he main ground. And I imagine parents didn't want their children to go out of sight. If they went to my apartment, they wouldn't be visible from the street.

No, not one kid at all. We never do though, but if I ever do go a year and not buy candy, someone will probably stop by :) But we are eating the candy, matter of fact, went to walmart today and bought some more, it was half price today so we picked up a few more bags that we defintely do not need to have, but hey sale candy tastes pretty good doesn't it?

I live on a military base so there is no shortage of kids. I bought 10 1/2 pounds of candy. I was afraid at first that no one was coming around, then the door bell started ringing! I had so many kids coming by that I literally gave away about all of that candy. I couldn't believe it. The parents were even dressing up. I thought it was pretty cool, but I was kind of depressed at the same time. My husband was not here to enjoy seeing the kids. We like to decorate the house and he likes to hide and jump out at the kids when I give them candy. It made me pretty sad because my Halloween buddy wasn't here to enjoy the festivities! But next year we are going to do something fun when he is home again. I am really sorry you didn't get any kids. That stinks! At least you like your candy and you will eat it. Remember! moderation! Do'nt be like me and eat half a bag of kit kats.

Because it's well known by most in the area that my building is a secure one and most of us don't answer our bells we never get any kids on halloween but you're right this year was strange. My neighbors told me that there were almost no kids around the neighborhood in costumes and there was none of the usual noise. On the other hand I was in a different city at my daughters and it was the same old halloween there.

Every year we've had fewer & fewer kids trick or treating. This year there were 2 individual kiddos, 1 big group of kids, & 2 small groups of kids. That's it. Around here we have a church on every corner &, interestingly enough, they seem to have "trunk or treat" or Halloween parties every Halloween. We have a science museum that has a Halloween party, not to mention the mall has trick or treating. With so many places to go, it's no wonder that neighborhood trick or treating has gone by the wayside. It's too bad - I had fun as a kid going house to house in the neighborhood. Of course back then it was much safer than it is now. The children today have so much to worry about. Sorry for your disappointing Halloween - hang in there!
