My 7 year old son knows that he 'jumped' out of mummy's tummy. And a little bit about how babies come into mummy's tummy. But after he learnt that mummy's tummy was cut for his little brother to be taken out, he is confused about where he jumped out from. I'm wondering if it is appropriate to tell a 7 year old where exactly he came out from!

I don't think one has to be graphic in explaining, but a simple true, yet innocuous phrase or two should suffice for a 7-year old. If you are too mysterious about it, kids from school (or gods forbid, even the teacher) will probably fill him in. When conversing with 7 year olds it is probably best to answer the question they really want to know rather than dealing in all the gory details. Your 7 year old is probably most interested in knowing if being born hurt mommy and if so, who hurt more, him or his brother, lol. Don't you just love sibling rivalry?

I guess I should ask him what exactly he wants to know. He knows that it hurts and that the C-section hurt me more. He's the one who told me to be strong when his brother was born.He probably just wants to know how I didn't get any of those stitches that his little brother gave me!My older son is very sensitive and wouldn't want mummy to be hurt and is very protective about me. I'm sure his little brother is going to make up for all his sesitivity:P I'm very open with my son....I just didn't know what to tell him when he asked me where exactly did he jump OUT from!
