This is one more peek at some of the christmas lights I have outside. These are the net type on one side of the deck on my front deck. They blink on and off also. I also have my yard lined along the edges with all green lights. I have a few strings of the multi function lights lining the front and side of my roof of the house also. I also have a bunch more lights lining my front large living room window. Also a bunch of lights lined along the rails of my whole fron t deck. Outside I think I have about 3000 lights or so. I didn't count them. HAHAHA! How far out do you go with lights? A lot? Just a few? Or are you a scrooge not putting up any at all? HAHAHA!!

But now days the newer lights are very energy conservative.
They cost about a nickle a day per string. Not a lot actually.
Less than a houselamp on the same time. But smile away as I
know it has to be the brightest smile around. hee hee.

Silly me, I didn't think of that. I've had my lights for some time and haven't used them but they probably don't use much...and of course they wouldn't be on all the time, only for a few hours at night maybe.
Now I'm thinking of the song...You....light up my life....hahahahahaha.

You have a very pretty set up of Christmas lights. We haven't put ours up. They don't usually go up until early december. Ours are not as extensive as yours. The kids would love more, but it's an effort for my hubby with his bad back getting them up. Plus, some are expensive to buy.
Every year, Adelaide has a Christmas light competition. Some homes go to amazing effort to put on magnificent displays. We also go on a tour to see some of these lights. It's great fun.

I am thinking if we get a coating of snow before Thanksgiving Day
I'll turn them on. I'm dying to keep them lit one night & soon too.

I bet you have the best looking house in your town around Christmas. We put up Christmas lights on the day after Thanksgiving. My husband puts the large bulb lights along the roof, we put the small chasing lights on the front windows, small blinking lights on the side bushes and blue icicle lights along our fence. We also put up some lights in the house and we put up our tree that day.

Nowhere near the best or biggest. There's one house we visit that has over 40,000 lights in it's display. It's a small Christmas village set up in the mans huge yard. He dresses as Santa on weekends handing out candy canes to visitors. The police even have to direct traffic some nights as it gets very busy at this mans house. He has to pay them of course. HAHAHA. Plus he states his electric bill for the 2 1/2 months of the display being lit runs over $3000. Ugghh! I've never used the big lights myself. I use the small lights as they cost less to buy and to light. Mom used the huge bulbs when I was a kid. So many would get broken by kids becuase they'd throw them on the ground loving the loud POP they made breaking.

Yikes---we only just got over Halloween and you have Christmas lights out and on already?? I still have my place decorated Halloweeny style and don't plan on putting the stuff away until maybe this weekend, but will keep a few things out to give it that fall/thanksgiving look to it. I never start decorating Christmas style until maybe a few weeks before Christmas...don't know why, just one of my traditions. Since I live in an apartment building, alas, I can't put lights outside...

Hello grandpa bob!!!
I like your lighting set-up!c",)looks really nice. Last year there was a contest in our place of the most beautiful lighted house.. We tried to participate so we had lights all over the house. Our house didn't win as the best but everytime i look at the house just makes me happy. That is one of the things i look up to during this time of the year. We would tour around the town at night just to watch the beauty of the lighted house. The houses chosen as best of the lighted house looked really simple during the day, but at night the house and the garden are creatively designed with beautiful colors (lights) with christmas shapes... I wish to see your whl place with all the lights grandpa bob!! lol

They have the same thing here. Different cities award prizes
etc to the best decorated homes during the holidays. I never
enter them as there are some very extravagant displays far
larger and better than I'd ever afford to do.
