Hi every one for the past 2 weeks or so I have been in a real foul mood, and I am so frustrated I could sit down and cry, I was talking to my daughter about it and she told me I go through this every fall, and she is right thinking because as my memory serves me I have had this problem for several years, And every fall it catches me unaware. Any one else suffer this way and if so what do you do about it if anything

Yes. I love the fall. It puts me in a happy mood. But I really do not suffer from mood swings too often. I take every day one at a time and see the joy in being alive, no matter what day it is or the time of the year. Maybe your foul mood is the result of something you are unaware of. Just a thought.

I don't have the problem, but a good friend of mine does. It's called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). One way of dealing with it is to buy one of those lamps with the bulbs that simulate daylight. They can be purchased in many natural/health food stores or online, but I don't know how much they cost. Also, just getting outdoors during the day and getting as much sunlight as you can is another way of dealing with it. Some people take antidepressants for it also. I don't know how severe your problem is. It can be debilitating for some people though.

I'm sure there are other men too out there who also have mood swings as I do! Although the worst time of the year for me is January and February when I suffer from the winter blues or SAD! But this time of the year I love, autumn or fall is my best time of the year with Christmas around the corner.

Hi Robin, I also have this problem. My doctor calles it post holiday stress. He said it can also be the difference in the weather and the sun not shining down on me. He suggested I bring in my own sun shine by buying flowers or painting a room a sunny color like yellow. I did both in my Avon Office. It really helped. So maybe it will help you. hugs Brenda

Well there is the condition called SAD, can't remember what it stands for, but as the colder weather hits and we get less sunlight, some people suffer with depression or sadness. I have never been told I had this, but every fall and until spring, I am not as happy as in the summer. They have special lights, but we couldn't afford them. Then one day, my husband was given a florescent light and we have had that for 2 years now and it works really good. I am not as moody since it has been installed..So if you can invest maybe into a small florescent lamp and sit under it for a while, it may improve your mood..
