We always prepare for Halloween by either making popcorn balls or having candy on hand to give to the hobgoblins that appear at our door. This year, I decided not to make the popcorn balls. I bought a variety of candy bars and waited for a knock on the door. The only 2 that showed up were my Grandson and my Daughter. Below is a picture of the 2 Hobgoblins.

Gee, what's going on? You too? I didn't have any trick or treaters come around either so I have so much candy left over..gee, don't want it to go to waste so I guess I'll just force myself to eat it...LOL Aww. your two hobgoblins look adorable!

I still have candy leftover. I am thinking of freezing it and putting in the Christmas stockings!

I love popcorn balls! My neighbor has a wonderful recipe for popcorn made with melted peanut butter and clear karo syrup. I don't know what else is in it. I have diverticulitis and have not been able to have popcorn for over 2 years; but when Nancy brought over a big bag of it and I realized that I had taken several doses of really highly powered antibiotics in the past 6 weeks and I was really depressed I said what the hockey puck and ate the entire bag! It was sooooo good. So far I've had no ill effects but I won't be doing that again for awhile. I left a comment on your picture. You may not want just anyone to read it.~D

peanut butter popcorn balls sounds great. I will have to do a search and see if I can find a recipe. Thanks for the comment on the photo. He did give up on the teeth. He said they were annoying.

I have a worse story. I had purchased 50 regular size candy bars. I got sick and went to the ER. They gave me a pain injection taht put me to sleep so I was sick and slept through the trick or treaters.
Now I have all this candy. Whatever shall I do with it? Do you want a candy bar??

Break them into small pieces and use them in a cookie recipe. They make great additions to cookies!

Hi ElusiveButterfly,
I love popcorn balls. I haven't had these in years. My mom used to make them every Christmas. Do you usually get a lot of trick or treaters? We had around 95 this year, and that was down from some years. We live in a townhouse complex, that has 100 units, and lots of kids. Great costumes, and photo.:)

We usually only get the grandkids. My son lives a half hour away and didn't want to make the drive over here. Makes me a bit sad.

That's too bad. Do you live in a remote area?

I have been hiding the candy in my mouth, but I fear it will reappear on my hips.

Very nice picture. I don't get trick or treaters out here in the country. So I went over to a friends house to help her pass out candy.

These are very effective Halloween costumes. My daughter seriously thought of making herself one & going out with her friends. But she had too make home work & too much swimming training.
We didn't have a single child call around to trick or treat this year.

What a nice pic of your daughter and grandson! They are the only ones that showed up? I have noticed that within the last few years their is less and less kids trick or treating! Hmmmmm.

I'm sure your two hobgoblins were ecstatic at the idea of not having to share, Elusive. I have not seen a trick-or-treater in a few years now, so I was asking my daughter if she had seen many in her neighborhood. She said that she had seen a few. The streets used to be filled with children. Hope you had a great Halloween.

I think that more are opting to go to parties rather than walk the streets in search of treats.

Morning dear Elusive Butterfly. Thanks for the nice and interesting picture of the two "hobgoblins". I had a look at the picture and had a good laugh over it. It is so funny to see them dressed this way. I am sure that you had a good laugh as well as I did. I love this picture very much for the fun you offered to us mylotters. Thanks again.
