Some Philipines words.

I find philipines language very wonderful everytime I watch philipines movies such that I feel you should teach me a few sentences here so that I can be proud of this great nation. In a movie love is timeless everyone cries at the movie leaving me to wonder whether people are so emotional in philipines such that a cat would make them cry to express their feelings. I would appreciate if you come up and teach me a bit of it. I think If God makes me come to philipines I may be suprised to see people crying in streets. In our neighbouring country Uganda girls and women in general kneel before visitors and in particular if you a man they just go on their knees immediately you appear before they shake your hand while kneeling. Doesn't that sound strange?

The local dialect is called Tagalog. The national language is Filipino. A lot of our words are similar to Spanish words, as our country was once occupied by the Spanish. It's easy to learn the language, especially if you would be around people who continually speak Tagalog. My fiance is an American, but he has already learned quite a number of Tagalog words. He can already say a few sentences and respond to some Tagalog words that he can understand. I don't actually give him lessons, he just learns from hearing people around him in conversations. When there are words that he can't understand, he would ask me about it and I would translate it to him, and he remembers them easily. Filipino love story movies are really emotional. It usually becomes a hit if there is a lot of crying in the story. But it would be really funny to see people crying in the streets here... LOL! Maybe you should come and visit the country sometime so you can learn the language, the beautiful places and the culture as well! It's one of my hobbies to take pictures of places I go to every now and then, and I've got several interesting pictures on my blog, places in our country you might want to visit someday! http://www.paulynramirez.com

Philippines belongs to the third world country. That is why many Filipinos are always victims of discriminations. But if you will have known Filipinos better, you will realize that they don't deserve the kind of treatment they usually get from foreigners. Yes, their poverty triggered them to work as domestic helpers, factory workers, entertainers, chambermaids, etc. But there are also Filipinos who excelled in other positions. Like nurses, doctors, managers, pilots, etc. What i like most in Filipinos are their being hospitable, close family ties, always smiling, and helpful. The Filipino movies are really dramatic most of the times. It depicts the kind of emotions they have- easily gets hurt and very sensitive. But they are also strong when needed to.
