I have to toot my daughter's horn!
We found out yesterday that she had earned All-Conference honors in Cross Country!
She was so excited, and now has a new medal to hang on her wall. It will also look really good as we continue to apply for college scholarships.

Yes, it will look better on her college application. Where does she want to go eventually? Winning things in junior high and high school never gets old, does it? I think our self-esteem during those years takes a shot, so anything that could make us feel more positive about ourselves is absolutely wonderful. : )

She wants to go to Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge Arkansas. It is a small liberal arts college with an excellent teachers college. It is in the country, middle of nowhere, but she loves it. They're only about 20 minutes from a decent sized town (Pocahontas) with a Walmart, JC Penney, and enough eating places to keep her happy.

We think it is perfect for her. She and I went up and visited the campus in November and both just fell in love. It's small, but has about 200 students, so it's big enough to give her some of the extra things. They have sports and she will try out for cheerleader in about a month. She's also going up the 23rd of this month to audition for a choral scholarship.

That's awesome that she won all conference honors in cross country. Every little bit helps when applying for college scholarships. As I have read a more recent discussion of yours, she has found a college to attend.

Yes, she has it narrowed down to one. She still has two more on her list, but she really isn't even looking at them much anymore. She feels that God wants her at WIlliams, and everything seems to be falling into place for her to get there.
We are excited for her, because it is just a good thing to watch those you love get the blessings they deserve. She's worked so hard to make good grades and do the right thing.

She's very excited about graduating from high school and going on to college. She says she knows she isn't good enough to run track in college, but she's had a ball doing it in high school. Right now, we are concentrating on basketball. It will seem funny next year, not having ball games and track meets to go to when we don't have children in the house.
