A trip to Walmart saved us from being rear-ended today...

We were headed to the mall and we have to pass Walmart to get there...Well, I had some film to be developed and thought that we should drop it off at Walmart and come back after we went to the mall to get a few things...Thank God we decided to go to Walmart because the truck next to us in the straight lane got rear-ended by a woman going about 40 to 45 mph...It was right next to my door..I saw the air-bag deploy and the elderly lady hit the bag.....Her front end was totalled and the truck she hit was leaking gas..... I am so glad we decided to go to Walmart and had been in the left turn lane when the crash happened...If we hadn't we would have been where the truck was that was hit...We had an angel with us today..... It was so scary to witness this....The lady got out with assistance and seemed to be okay.... I prayed that she will be alright...

Wow, great that you decided to go to Wally World at the last minute. Freaky when you think of what could have happened if you hadn't changed your mind. You had an angel on your shoulder Feona. Big Huggers to you.

I love Wal-Mart and am glad to hear someone having something good to say about them! I do hope everyone will be OK, and am glad that you avoided an accident. It must have been disconcerting for you, nevertheless. Something like that happened with us just a few days ago. Usually I am raring to go when hubby suggests a trip to the mall, but for some reason this one time I just kept diddling around the house finding one reason after another not to rush out the door. Hubby was even starting to get annoyed with me because we planned to eat out and he wanted his lunch! Usually he is so very patient. But when I finally felt "all clear" in my mind to go out, we noticed that traffic was backed up for miles along our main highway due to an accident that took place right near where we had been headed. Hubby said that if we had left when he wanted to we would have been stuck in all that traffic at best or worse yet, at the scene of the accident. Sometimes we do make sudden decisions for reasons we cannot quite comprehend at the time. Later it all makes sense.

"What-if's" and "there but by the grace of God go I" are always scary! How lucky for you that your had someone looking out for you that day. I always say thank you prayers for good things that happen...I don't believe in coincidences.

I find that seeing an accident always makes me feel a little off, but to think it could have been you in a certain situation makes things even scarier. I've seen one or two, where I could well have been involved if I hadn't(or had) done a certain thing. Just makes you notice how easily things can happen, and how little things can change the outcome! Glad you decided to go to Walmart, and I'm sure the other lady will be fine!

What can i say, one thing is sure things happened in a like determined way.I heard a lot of people talking about this "what would have happened if they haven't done that".

wow you had soem bad luck earlier, and now you had something pretty good happen to you. I know alot of older people who care healthier than can be and others who are in pretty bad shape but yet they still drive. Sure enough these are the same ones in incidents like the one you just described. It should be law for older person to take the actual driving test again. Glad you were lucky and the people involved were ok. :)
