With international money transfer problems, I wonder sometimes if it's all worth it. But this is my 2 centavos' worth. Service to Avoid: Xoom.com It has been more than five times that they have cancelled my transactions, for vague reasons. I really think they should fold up. Even my Singaporean boss avoids them. I should have heeded him. Great Services Worth Using, frequently: iKobo.com I have had nothing but smooth times with this provider. Though you cannot withdraw your PayPal credits to their card or transact with them using PayPal directly, you can actually use your PayPal debit card with them, if you are a US Citizen and if you have a PayPal US account. PayPal despite the bad press, they are still the most excellent and most secure money transfer providers that I know. unparalleled. worth it. Globe's G-Cash Advise and Pay Nearly as expensive as Western Union, just a little cheaper, but a WORTHIER alternative, as opposed to Xoom.com. PayStone my parents' Medical Transcriptionist colleagues swear by this. MoneyBookers one of my local bosses swears by this. excellent encryption, however, it'a a little complicated to use, and there are fees for bank verifications. but the transfer fees are much lower. Western Union still the fastest, and yet most expensive. Pecunix Possibly the most secure encryption software I've come across. I love their system, however, you have to jump through hoops for transferring funds. Worse, it's also another somersault or two to get your money exchanged to cash too, because this is virtual gold, much like e-gold, only more secure. The bottom line for me are still iKobo and PayPal. :) Torch Xoom. They deserve to go bankrupt!
