Hating your rivals

Do you really hate the state, city, or country that your rival team is from or just that team? For example, Ohio and Michigan: Ohio State and Michigan State are rivals, Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers, I don't know if I exactly hate Michigan, but of course when someone tells me they're from Michigan the first thing I think is I hate your sports teams!

Hi Gradyslady, I live in a little town of about 6,600 people give or take and they are VERY competative with their HS Football team. They are the Indians, and everywhere you look is a little Indian with a tomohawk in his hand painted red, black, and white. On the beds of peoples trucks, in peoples windows in houses and apts, bumper stickers or ones that say my kid is a DQ Indian Cheerleader, or whatever they do! lol This weekend they are playing the rival HS in the next town over, the Panthers, and the HS has asked all its residents to dress their homes and yards with red and black and show some Indian pride! I think this is silly LOL Im not from here, I wasnt born here or anything, so this really made me wonder, are lots of places like this? Ive never experienced this sort of thing before. I know I have heard of some Uni's who are rivals with other Uni's but not that often. Only OK and TX. LOL And to me Pro Football or other sports dont really matter where you come from or live vs who you are a fan of, I dont like the Bears, the Cubs or the Sox....so I dont look at pro sports teams that way. Oh, Im just not a fan of baseball, not that they are bad teams. :) Bay Lay Gray xx
