Why do you think people are afraid to speak up when they see something that is wrong happening. ? Do you think people are swayed by numbers and fear if they speak out and it goes against the norm ..they will be ostricized.. For me..it takes quite a bit of character to step out and speak up against apparent wrong..no matter how many people are doing it..

Yes..you are so right..the devils of society.. The terrible thing is that many people have stopped believing in devils, evil spirits or even Hell..They feel that stuff is all imaginary

For some passing security we compromise values? Isn't it terrible what fear can do..it can even keep us from doing the right thing?

Although not speaking up might make us popular with those whose ways we are accepting of..speaking up will make us the better person in the long run. There are too many silent people in our world.. Because people look away injustices continue to rule the world.

I have hope that things will change.. Things can change if good people don't keep silent..I think people fear what others may say more then what others may do..The power of words sometimes surmounts that of actions..A few words put together can destroy a whole person's life.!

what a great topic! I think many people just dont want to be involved..they may just not care..and want to live there lives in this little box and ignore everything else around them..and frankly that saddens me to noo end..when i found out the girl the was molested by her brother had started a cpl years ago and the fact she was 3 then..and he was 9 or 10..and she came screaming and crying out of the woods with her shorts and undies in her hands..and him walking behind her..AND EVERY PARENT DOWN THEER SAW THIS..but nooo one..not one single soul would help her..report it.even talk to her mom..it was just swept under the table..and that makes me sick..and things like that happen all the time and no one does anything..it saddens me and makes me angry to no end..and some nights i just cry myself to sleep when i see on the news..if only someone got involved and spoke up..its just sad and depressing..

It is everybody's duty to speak up against the wrong. But yes, there is an element of personal fear involved in it. And people are so used to the wrong, they don't want it to change. They would say, "this is how we live, and we don't a change". And if anybody tries to do anything out of the ordinary all of them will come together and try to stop him. It's been happening for years now.

I agree..such things have been going on for years now. Living in the comfort zone, not wanting to rock the boat, wanting only "peace" at all costs..even at the risk of compromising values and morals. I know that it's been going on for years..but I think it's time to start rocking the boat a little bit and challenging people to do the right thing..Being accepted might be the reasoning behind so many ways of acting, but when all is said and done..how can one sleep at night knowing they chose the wrong way only because they feared rejection?

you are absolutely right the system is so predetermined in these things that even a positive change is stamped off
